Former Matriarch Zebelebala was the founding Matriarch of the yinglet enclave of Antenill, which itself is a young border town with few permanent residents.

The only female that the former Matriarch produced is the current Matriarch, Ickney, who has never displayed many of the traits traditionally required for a female, let alone that of a Matriarch.

While a Matriarch tends to require patience, motherly nurturing, vision, leadership, and wisdom (or the ability to make up believable lies resembling wisdom), Ickney was always more fond of joining the hunting parties, exploring, and playing with (i.e. terrorizing) the boys.

Almost a year into her new position, the area experienced a particularly bad drought, followed by a shortfall of foodstuffs; this attracted many travelling merchants from neighboring areas, many of whom have used the locals’ need of food to charge unreasonable prices.

Cairo here is the recipient of their frustrations, despite harboring no such intentions.
