FUN FACTS
-Most of the jewelry yinglet females wear is comprised of thin, pressed copper or bronze wafers.
-Most yinglet enclaves are located in the vast grasslands south of the Val Salian passage, and are much more tribal in nature.
In comparison, the Val Salian yinglets (especially the females) are much more cosmopolitan in behavior and fashion.
NON-FUN FACTS
x + 3y = 1 – 2z
You MATH-FIEND: 1-2z-3y+3y=1-2z
It took me a minute to understand this one and see what you did. I really need to brush up on my Algebra. :/
Shaving down the shell tooth sounds like one of those extremely painful and idiotic traditions that get passed down because tradition.
Probably not, really. It’s not unreasonable to assume that the yinglet shell tooth grows throughout its life, much like the front teeth of a rabbit or rat. (Or that the shell tooth is regularly shed as a replacement grows in behind it.) In either case, it’s probably not painful.
Ah, no actually. A small shelltooth is considered to be a feminine traits for Yinglets, as is a short and rounded snout. So Kass is apparently a very “handsome” female for a Yinglet. Also if it is broken then it never grows back, and the unfortunate Yinglet will likely starve, although that is only a real problem for the males.
The author confirms in the comments on http://www.valsalia.com/comic/out-of-placers/oops-44/comment-page-1/#comments that a broken shelltooth will fall out and regrow eventually.
Not quite, they said that it had to fall out for the new tooth to grow in, this operation said that the tooth would never grow back
I feel so sorry for Kass. She deserves more respect for taking the role of diplomat between their people. I wanted to see her friend come in and save her during this assault.
Cute outfit, but the glazed expression and the blood dripping from her ear is priceless!!
OW MY EAR!!!!
The name is in a tongue long forgotten, but this storm is far from weathered, little one…
In the last panel, Kass looks like he(she) is wearing heavy mascara.
