That and Yannit was barely in control of themself. From what has been previously stated, it’d be likely that innocent deaths would be involved as well.
1. How have they not been crushed like watermelons?
2. What has she been doing all night while left in attack mode?
Would Yannit be able to sort out the heads after plucking them from the Twins’ shoulders like ripe strawberries? Which head should go back on which twitching decapitated corpse?

She’s not in attack mode. She’s in DEFEND mode. So presumably what she’s been doing is keeping her adopted hive safe. Whether they want it or not :P.
But this seems like an odd way to defend them. She is holding them back with her two strongest appendages. Surely she would want this free to use.

Basically Yannit is having a panic attack. I can relate.
Perhaps. Perhaps she IS sensing some imminent danger that mere humans cannot sense.
Dare I say foreshadowing?
I think the idea is she’s VERY agitated because one of her friends got attacked and almost died and is in a state of mind Indrels need to defend their people from predators, but since she doesn’t actually KNOW the details of the attack or who is respnsible and can’t even leave to find the perpetrator anyway, she’s basically stuck in ‘protective murder mode’ until Ran calmed her down.
I get the feeling aromatherapy would have a _MUCH_ more pronounced effect on Indrels than other species…they just need to figure out _what_ scents do what for Yannit. I doubt they have the tech to actually _mimic_ Indrel pheromones, but…given this is the first time I’ve ever seen Ran doing something other than comic relief, I could be surprised.
A lava lamp might be more soothing to Yannit — there’s no evidence that Indrels can actually “smell”.
The Indrel appear to be based primarily on ants. Ants CAN smell, in that they can sense airborne microparticulates with their antennae. How they interpret this sense and how it compares to what we consider “smell”, we have no way to determine- but the functionality of what we call “smell” is there, and ants tend to rely quite heavily on it.
