The exiles from an enclave don’t necessarily put much distance between themselves and their old homes; they are just marked as unwelcome, and undeserving of any protection or assistance from the rest of the population.
These ones tend to be those that cause problems for the human population, so the previous Matriarch let the human population know that there wouldn’t be any hurt feelings if they decided to do something about these troublemakers.
There are believed to be at least several dozen exiles in hiding throughout the city.
One of them likes feet
Thanks as usual to Raptie for handling the character coloring and shading on this page!
It not going to go well for Brakka. Since his team seems to be the Yinglet Three Stooges.
plot twist, Yannit was watching all of this and saves the day
I was promised a head crush!
i just found and binged this today and may I say I love your comic! Great world design and story and I love the uniforms and everything! Does do you have an update schedule or is it whenever?
Same here! Someone posted a screenshot of one panel, I thought it looked interested, and I was hooked withing the first few comics. Then I read the entire thing and found myself stopped at the biggest cliffhanger of the series. Fantastic work, well written and captivating; I’m hooked!
He seems to update when he cam. It’s worth it.
I love what Kass says in panel 5. “Hope ya like getting choke-murdered because that’s what’s on today’s menu bitch”, so epic! I might have to borrow that for D&D some time. 🙂
I think this is reason enough for Kass to be armed at all times.
Or at the very least to give out some decent armor under thise clothes.
I don’t get it? Why kass just don’t piearce trough brakka’s neck and kill him at once? what yngs’s claw are not sharp enough for it? also her (?) claws weren’t longer when she cut open the ynglet egg?
A cat can’t do it either, despite razor sharp claws. I think yinglets are just too weak. Ripping open something’s throat actually takes a bit of brawn.
I’m kinda surprised. Kass is an veteran soldier. Seeing wounded battle brother should bring so many war flashbacks… At least in reality I saw one such ocassion with former marine engaged in a bar fight with his mate being accidentally hit. He turned into berserker. Needed like a 8 men to calm him down.
Remember he is not really a full-blown veteran. He got drafted to make a desperate last stand against Beleram and then he and Elim deserted mid-battle.
Also worth noting: Kass’ brain chemistry has suffered a preeeeeeeeeeetty drastic shift recently. He’s very literally not thinking like himself. All zhat yinglet brainjuice, ya? Quite possible his instincts are basically completely randomized at this point, given that they’ve all been otherwise programmed for a completely different body.
Rereading this I just love that Kassen demonstrates some excellent competence. First, he advises Elim not to remove the knife from the wound, knowing that will only hasten the bleeding and not help until they can properly treat it.
Second, and this is the part I really love, is that Brakka starts trying to Kass with his (somewhat poorly) prepared dialog. Of course he doesn’t know that Kassen is actually fairly intelligent for a human being, and certainly high on the street-smarts type of intelligence. I almost wish I could have seen Kass’s expression when Brakka was starting to talk. But I am also fairly certain Kass would have had his “game face” on by this point, not showing much reaction to a threat. I say this, because of what happens next. Within the span of something like five-seconds, Kass makes a firm decision and takes action. He fucking jabs the attacker in the god-damn eye with his thumb and even manages to poke him with the extended thumb-nail of his new Yinglet body.
I love this because eye-poking is not something the average citizen thinks of when defending or attacking. And by the way, Kass was DEFINITELY attacking there. This wasn’t defense of anyone but Elim if you know what I mean. The second part I love is that Kass IMMEDIATELY starts choking Brakka. Not only does he choke him but he is doing so SUCCESSFULLY. Brakka was very likely going to die if he didn’t use a surprise move. I love the certainty and attitude that Kass bears when dealing with this threat. Calm, cool, collected, even cracking some jokes. Fucking great.
This is such a good demonstration of Kass’s competence and will. Split second mission critical decisions with strong decisive actions.
Post on a super old page I know, but I would like to commend you for capturing the mindset of a man who just saw his battle buddy injured. The world goes away and there’s an odd sense of calm at odds with your entire body screaming its need to inflict violence on anything that threatens him. In short, it is when you finally understand what the word “hate” means.
“Oh feet. Feet are okay.”
Sure thing Tarantino yinglet.
