Jal sees a lot of people on a regular basis, but the only yinglet in Ivenmoth, who rides up and down three times a day at minimum, is easy to remember.

I eagerly await the story arc where Jal trained lift attending skills save everyone in the city.
Stranger things have happened in sci-fi and/or fantasy before.
We’ll never know how many disasters of all sorts were prevented by lift attendants, chuffers, couriers, mailmen and so many other, by simply doing their job as intended. Because thanks to them those disasters never happened.
You never underestimate a motivated liftman.
IRL, an actual train station clerk saved countless lives :
During the Halifax incident, while everyone was running for the hills, the guy stayed at his post, using the telegraph frantically to tell the previous station to stop the oncoming train at all costs ! Didn’t leave until he got confirmation the message was received, didn’t make it to safety before the explosion…
Civilian heroes are no different to military or fireworkers ones.
Think about it this way: Because of Jal, many important Ivenmoth personnel, doing many important things, can go about their days efficiently, getting more done and seeing more people than they would otherwise be able to. Every day, in small part, he improves the lives of those who’s lives are improved by Ivenmoth activities.
It’s probably a really important job that needs a reliable hand. I could be wrong, but I don’t think anybody gets up and down in the Teeth without using that lift, which makes Jal the equivalent of a castle gatekeeper.
It would be an uplifting story full of ups and downs~
“And, uh…would you mind just calling me ‘sir’? Just a preference.”
“Oh! Yessir.”
This guy gets it.
Simple as!
Ivenomth Guard: Yessir!
Yinglet Guard LAAADYYY!!! Oh so Prettty LAAADYY! OH SOOOO SMART LAAAADYY!! OWIES! Stoppit! *sounds of being choked*
BASICALLY THIS
Ah, much looking forward to checking up on our gallant hero once again, clear sailing ahead!
It’s starting to look like Kass was born for this job, maybe even with a heaven-ordained destiny. It’s a rough fate to endure literal physical reformation into an entirely different body, but if it’s a divine calling to be made a blessing for others, maybe even Kass will decide it’s worth it in the long run. What do the yinglets call that marvelous nebula in the sky?
I look up and points my finger upwards, like by doing so, I can become closer to de beauty dat is clearly evident above us, a possible connection to lives gone by, or a type of life that we cannot fathom that loves us and watches over us. I sigh basking in the beauty of “Dat glowy shit up zhere”.
Ah yes, that’s the phrase. Yinglets have such a way with words! (LOL)
huh. an interesting question posed. I do wonder what goals kass had before all this craziness went down if any at all. I mean to facing such drastic change in lifestyle means re-examing your previous aspirations as well as your role in the greater community as a whole.
