Yinglets are locally referred to as "scavs"
for their mostly scavenger-based society, typically live along rivers
or beaches, and use their long legs and thin feet to sift through the
topsands for oysters, clams and whatever else is buried underneath.
Their strong front teeth are used for cracking open shellfish, and quite
often for settling disputes.
The coast near Val Salia tends to collect a great deal of scrap and debris, and the tides drop several meters over a few months, so each year the local Yinglets swarm over the exposed sands for treasures to eat or sell. They tend to smell like raw fish during this period. |
