Isher looks a little rough, but perhaps if she is pregnant it will be the long term source of happiness she really needs in her life. Isher would be a great Mom.
I somehow suspect that being this is not her first time around the rodeo, there’s either some simple but effect contraceptive work at play- or more likely, being completely incompatible species will do the trick.
The comic has not shied away from sex leading to reproduction so far. And we still don’t know exactly what Isher is species wise. But her being pregnant would likely fit in the comic’s spirit of changes, as Isher herself has not had a meaningful change in her life during the comic. And Isher deserves a character arc, of which parenthood, and pregnancy and the changes associated with a large reptillian being especially hormonal would be fun to watch. Isher is very cute, and a little Isher would be more so.
Well, we know she’s a half-something hybrid… and if the other half is human, that should make her either indeed compatible with humans – or just sterile.
And I really hope that’s NOT her change. Besides, Isher’s life is affected enough by Kass turning into a yinglet. Not to mention she must have quite the background… and also, there’s now Yannit affecting her life as well…
And in any case, it’s the morning after the night. Aren’t you rushing your expectations here? Even if she’s pregnant, as far as I know, there wouldn’t be any signs of it the very next morning. She looks rough because she cried all night. That’s all.
I didn’t mean to imply Isher suffering from morning sickness. Don’t know if a Dragon-Human Hybrid person like Isher even would get morning sickness. What I meant is her long wait for company, her being taken advantage of and used will have no payoff for this series of Isher centered stories minus showcasing her kind and longsuffering nature unless it leads to a change in her character. And personally, I’d like to give some of the secondary characters something to do, like Yannit and Lopin. Male yinglets are very much inclined to babysitting after all. Yannit belonging to a hive, I think would be very much happy at a pregnant Isher, and also the first to know if she was pregnant, as Yannit is very sensitive about pheremonal changes. It’ll be interesting to see their next interaction.
“Taken advantage of” suggests duplicity or some other bad-faith manipulation. Semyel established before getting to the inn that Isher was specifically *not* after an attachment, and fully intended to follow through with her wants – *tried,* even – before the reality of the situation sent him into a panic.
And “used” was mutual. Money might not have changed hands between them, but their encounter was largely transactional, each viewing the other not as a romance but as means to fulfill a need. He may have got closer to what he wanted out of it, but – it bears repeating – not for lack of trying on his part to give her what she’d asked for.
Isher was crying, your logic has no basis on that fact.
That makes absolutely no sense. People can and do bring tears upon themselves. Having regrets over what happened doesn’t mean you didn’t make a choice.
You are typical product of our times with that double-think of yours:
“Women equal to men therefore responsible for their actions and choices”
“Women more fragile, and not accountable for their choices and their mistakes are fault of anyone but them, just like with children”.
You can’t have both of those, you need to chose one.
Otherwise you believe 2 contradictory ideas at the same time.
Indeed common sense and logical thinking is not common attributes these days.
Knowing how this comic goes, a few months from now that guy’s shipmates would be commenting about how he’s looking a bit pudgy and why is he throwing up over the side so much? The weather’s not that rough and…

That’s the fun of being a parent, your kids love you warts, horns, and all. Having someone who needs Isher, to hug her every night, to say they love her, its all I could ask for her as a character to have a happy ending. She’d even do the grumpy guardsman routine if she had someone to care for, and they needing her when she came back.
Children aren’t guaranteed or even obligated to love their parents if their parents can’t do a good job at being parents.
Yes, Isher is very nice and caring, but if she gets unwanted children she doesn’t even know how to take care of…
Yeah, I get the impression people commenting in this thread have never been parents, had extremely sheltered/conservative/odd upbringing, or just plain weird/mildly creepy fetishes. :\

I just see it as a transition. But it can also mean next page is starting someplace lacking in light
What if the next page is about Brakka waking up from his head trauma?
I actually did suspect it might be a transition to someone waking up from SOMEthing, but I admit I was thinking more along the lines of the scene of Isher meeting Kass to be a sort of “dream rehearsal” of her morning.
Either that, or a switch to a dimly-lit scene of Isher’s room or the inn, trashed after she vented the night before.
I’d pick her up and carry her away but she’s too big. I guess I can convince her to carry me instead.
I’m sure Semyel would have liked to carry her as well. The real test is whether you agree to be carried by her.

Ive gotta say these are some of the best fleshed out characters of most of the webcomics I’ve read.
I especially like Isher, she’s a got a great heart.
