They aren’t trying to startle Lippie, and aren’t purposely ignoring her yelps; it’s just that it happens so often, it kinda blends into the background after a while.

Ooh-ho-ho! How delightful to see all the lovely yinglet maidens happily getting along. You go, little Pekkit! Show them all how entirely enlightened you are! ^w^
So so happy for new knowledge! Somehow I think Pekkit would make Ran in Valsalia so, so happy to meet someone so hungry for knowledge. Truly a equal to Ran’s human students, and a interesting subject for Ran and Vislet’s hopes to educate Yinglets. And for what Pekkit would think of being stuck where books were super common? You would have to have to drag her out. A bit like the (rather good) Anime Ascendance of a Bookworm, yinglet edition minus the glowy eyes, and more willing to lay eggs for tuition.
Awww, that’s nice seeing everyone so supportive of Pekkit’s interests! Poor Lippie though, so easily spooked. The little introvert can’t handle all this screaming.
She’s going to be really loudly disappointed when she finds out someone else ate the books.
I didn’t dos it! O_o
I say Blame it on the Baxxid!
Nooooo! Not za nice Baxxid buddies… who are sooo smart ands patient and… forgivings of za yinglet lost in zheir tunnels and stucks in zheir splashy water-slides zhingies. *blink blink*
Ohoh… Maybe blames za bread-eatings hoomans? Zhey dos it… zhey entirelies dos everyzhings! Oh wait… O_o
Aha! Through many listenings, and learnings, I have found out there is a rare baxxid that is called a Bookworm! I am imagining so, so much books eaten by such. When Pekkit called herself one, no wonder why de book sellers all looked so, so nervous! I’d be taking a bet too to see how many books a Yinglet bookworm could eat too!
Do toothmarks count?
I alsos didn’t dos it… zhis time. *glances in za direction of Za Matriarch and whimpers*
I have to admit I like the female Yinglet’s their interesting characters.
Can’t wait to see them get more involved and maybe see and interact with the famous Diplomat and his human brother…I wonder which the would look forward to meeting. For some reason I could picture Zally if she talked about Kas’s human brother would go off into some long, very detailed description of just what she would love to do to him to the unfortunate people listening to her.
Still wonder if the Matron will try to toughen Lippie up by sending her to Kas to see if she can make herself more of a back bone.
Lippie needs to spend more time in the Hatchery with the younglings. While Kass thought them terrifying, I think Lippie would find her center being around kids, which is traditionally a Male’s job. Lippie really needs to connect with someone who needs her, and not just to breed her.
Isn’t Kass in a female Yinglet’s body?
I mean if he was stuck in a male one Kass would probably be assaulted by a new problem as in the Matriarch trying to breed him with herself or every female in the colony to try to get a Yinglet with Human level wit.
If you want to know more about Swamp Yinglets, Will is the better source. But my take on the species as a whole is due to our shortened childhoods, we Yinglets compared to Humans keep our childish traits, and often have to work harder to overcome moment to moment impulses. Our brains though retain what humans call neural plasticity throughout our lives. So learning is possible for us, as Vislet pointed out. Genetics do play a part in who or what a yinglet can be, its true. But the Yinglet Council keeps yinglet enclaves very much under their control, and the rumor is by collecting enough of the item that Kassen Akoll used to accidentally become a Female Yinglet (and now uses female pronouns) they may have found a way to cheat a Yinglet’s shortened lifespan by using the item on themselves, and becoming smarter and longer lived than Humans. That they may have turned away from the guidance of the heavens, and consider themselves the highest authority may be their downfall, but Kass having that moment where she gets in contact with whatever that glowy stuff in the sky really is, I don’t know what will happen. But what I do know is Vislet’s plan to leave the Yinglet Council’s influence will be met in force. The council needs for Yinglets to remain ignorant, easy to control, and above all uneducated.
And for Kass being bred in the hopes of making a smarter Yinglet, that is possible now. But keep in mind that only Vislet and her Patriarchs want smarter Yinglets. Kass would be more willing if she was male, that’s for certain. But it may come down to Kass and the ValSalian Encalve’s females holding off what ever the Yinglet Council may bring to them. Narket is just the tip of the spear for what awaits our intrepid Yinglets, and Elim has already bled for that cause.
Isn’t Lady Kass za female yinglet… YESYES! (Sooo pretty tail-poof…) A verys LOUD but prettys Mister Sir Off’cer Ma’am Lady Kass… Ma’am. *attempted salutes*
And as fors all za entirelies extras interest in Lady Kass… well maybies if she hids her smartsies betters… ;p
Kaz is probaly smarter than most but I think the large thing is that he’s…more likely to think things though more than a Yinglet like have it go through his head and thing, “Is this a smart idea or not.”
Most Yinglet things seems more like they don’t usually second guess and do the first thing on their minds the smart ones seem to actually ask the question if this is a smart idea or not…they also live longer.
Heyhey! Did you hears? Lady Pekkit iz gonna gets some new books! I bets she iz SOOO excitings! Soso entirelies… *nod nods*
And I bets Lady Lippie is shakings inna corner somewheres. She could entirelies use za hugs… or some soozhings pat pats…
Lippie needs some quality time with Patriarch Poak, but then who doesn’t?
Oh yesyes. I likes Poak as he is nice. *nod nods* (…and somewheres a yinglet brain cell shouts “Yay!”)
Why do I feel that something is going to happen to those books very soon?
I suspect Yay-Yinglet of page ‘OOPs #33’. We haven’t heard from him in a while and that worries me…
Nooo! We must quicklies forms za spears-circle and stabbies zhose zhat would harms ze Lady Pekkit’s books! (Zhough she would probablies stabbies zhem herself…) Iz nots happenings on my watch… *face of much determinedieness*
Oh lookat zhat shiny overs zhere…
O_O
“IT’S A COOKBOOK!”
Yays… clams-sauce! But what iz zhis lick… a gar? O_o
You know, for some reason I already had the feeling Zally was the sort to express herself via thumbs-up.
Vizlet might need to look into getting Lippie some medication. Freaking out over sudden unexpected…exuberance…is one thing. Startlement from loud noises from a known and expected source is another.
She is looking into it, she’s talked to Figgins about it just recently.
I wonder if Pekkit’s also related to Beizel. The blue pawpads and the intelligence sure seem familiar.
