OOPs #178: Ivenmoth Publication Archives #1
It was a bit of a shock at first, but the New Normal settled in fairly quickly afterwards.
The military invasion of Ukraine is not only terrible, but it is directly affecting some in the OOPs community, such as https://www.furaffinity.net/user/karintina/ , who is in the area under attack and cannot evacuate. Please consider helping in any little way you can, such as donating to https://unitedhelpukraine.org/ , or one of these various types of organizations, which offer aid in some specific way: https://time.com/6151353/how-to-help-ukraine-people/
Also, remember: don’t hate on the Russian people. Most of them are as appalled at what’s going on as everyone else, and are risking their lives to protest the war; it’s Putin that deserves all the hate, not the common people.

Looks like this page replaced the previous page.
New best friend Guard-at-Gate is still on page 177, along with Pekkit’s escort Deema to look after her.
Is Vislet the matriarch from 5 years ago? We know Vislet spent time travelling and learning of humans when she was young, she took time learning from another Matriarch what it meant to be a Female Yinglet, and has had time to cement her position as matriarch enough so that the Yinglet council has had time to plot against her. So, either this page featured the only words from a different Matriarch, and Vislet was picked to finish what she started, or Female Yinglets have longer lifespans than their male counterparts. Or Vis just had a very, very interesting and busy life. Either way, look forward to learning more about her life and struggles.
We know yinglets can live to be as old as 25, and Vizlet has noted herself to be particularly old on at least one occasion. Seems reasonable for her to have already been the matriarch five years ago. Also, I would imagine females do have a higher average life expectancy simply because they’re actively kept away from danger (ex. stray dogs, children, weird bugs that turn out to be poisonous, accidentally walking off a cliff…)
Identifying the ruling caste by their clothing is smart. The average citizen can’t be expected to recognise individuals, especially when photographs don’t exist and accurate renditions of their likenesses are going to be uncommon; but recognising “that person is dressed fancy, they’re probably important” is a lot easier, even if it’s not going to be 100% accurate.
Ah, so that’s the purpose of the hood. Also, time to go back and take another look at the Patriarchs.
Also, I love how the first “the” in Vizlet’s statement is written as “[th]e”.
I got a kick out of that too.
I feel bad for anyone who has an X-shaped scar on their forehead that isn’t a criminal. It’s just that it makes them look so dastardly!
Wouldn’t the overwhelming cuteness of the yinglets make it extremely difficult for anyone to want to kick them?
I wonder how the town’s folk would deal with the cute overload when seeing multiple yinglets.
Someone doesn’t knowz us verries well… dos zhey? *blink blinks*
Oh NOS not za head-scritchies and tummy-rubs EEEEEEEEeeeee… … …*happy yinglet noises*
Counterpoint to cuteness: three of the first Yinglets we saw were mugging a guy.
Well, they were criminals! Or maybe that guy had it coming.
A bit of a non-sequitor perhaps… What fonts did you use on this page? I especially like the headlines.
