They only lent Pekkit the ones they were okay with potentially losing. And Someone’s got some opinions about local politics
The military invasion of Ukraine is not only terrible, but it is directly affecting some in the OOPs community, such as :iconKarintina: , who is in the area under attack and cannot evacuate. Please consider helping in any little way you can, such as donating to https://unitedhelpukraine.org/ , or https://www.comebackalive.in.ua/
Also, remember: don’t hate on the Russian people. Most of them are as appalled at what’s going on as everyone else, and are risking their lives to protest the war; it’s Putin that deserves all the hate, not the common people.

To be honest, I half expected that Deema had “displaced” the books on the way there.
Oh, all the enclave guards know how important books are to her, and nobody wants to make her cry
You’re not a homophobe, I hope?
They said “eating”, not “sucking”, implying being abusive. Or I could be wrong. YMMV
I mean honestly lots of people who suck cock still use it as an insult. I don’t think its telling either way in the end.
Seriously? Have you read this comic?
That’s a question a bit out of left field. Why do you need to even ask this? Especially if you read the entire comic.
don’t feed the troll, man
Remove the author from the art… If Val vas a homophobe he wouldn’t be making a comic about coming to gripes with body dysmorphia and trying to break societal stigmas.
The second librarian clearly has some distaste for the author of those books.
Haha naw; the various people within the city have all sorts of views and ideas though, and not all of them are exactly forward thinkers! Like the lady selling lead cups, and the people who buy them from her.
always cracks me up when women call someone a cocksucker.
Why?
Do you care?
Deema thus far has been very mellow for a yinglet. More so that he’s a guard considering that almost all guards are a little scatter brained. Like his father, I think he will see a lot of his line more forward. I wonder if his mother is Vizlet.
It is possible that Pekkit herself is Deema’s Mother, and that is partly why Deema is so happy today. The Matriarch chose Deema to follow Pekkit knowing they would not embarrass her by doing horny Yinglet things. How better to insure this than by choosing a Mother and child combination?
My guess is Poak for the size and chill temperament and Zally for the fur and extra teeth.
“horny… Yinglet… zhings”
*imagines Yinglets wearing Viking helms and trying to sail longships* (insert Swedish Chef words here)
NNNOOOOOOOO…
The Immigrant Song, but with yinglets instead of kittens.
What is “The Immigrant Song?” What is it from?
Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” is the song that plays behind the iconic “Viking Kittens” animation. It was also used in some movie about Asgard or something, or so I hear.
Haha; I’m most definitely going to be drawing up a lineage chart for some of the more notable members of the enclave at some point!
don’t. there’s enough diversity that part of the fun for us obsessed readers is recognizing the lineages. it’s an easter egg and we love it. just keep combining the traits for us to sort out and us superfans will love it.
I agree also (though its interesting how the boss don’t know?) that we as readers should know what Kass does, or another main character does as the plot unfolds. That we don’t know if a Female was passed over for Matriarch and is older than Vislet for example is part of exploring the world at large, and is fun to do. But in the end, its your comic, but making things too easy on us takes out what makes a story worth coming back to.
Please do. Please, kindly ignore the dork^Wperson telling you “don’t”, and thinking they (and their…”traits”) represent the entire fanbase.
Deema is a “he”? For some reason I didn’t get that impression, regardless of how they were attired.
Well now that she’s proven she can be trusted, I hope Pekkit can get much more fun books!
Maybe a clam cookbook?
To be honest, that’s the type of book’s more likely to be *written* by yinglets : D
From reader to writer! Pekkit has greatness in her future!
“To Serve Clams” …
It’s a cooksbook! It’s a cooksbook! O_O
Mmmmm… clams… *much droolies*
It is a interesting turn from de last page, where de Librarian had bet on Pekkit returning de books unhamred, to wishing she had indeed ate zhem. Hope Miss Pekkit gets some more interesting books dis time. It would be interesting what she would pick out for herself, someding to benefit the Matriarch’s cause? Or someding more Yinglet-ish (read porn). Either way, there is a chance of being cought by our forever pain in the ass, ultra conservative, and ultimately traitorous to Vislet’s plans Patriarch Narklet. I doubt he reads many Human books, but he might know how to burn them.
They gave them books they wanted gone anyway as a test whether to be trusted.
If the books were taken care of, then another bond between the local humans and yinglets would be forged. If they were damaged, the librarian would have an excuse to throw out those memoirs.
It’s a win-win!
Ooh ooh…
Perhaps someying should volunteers to takes Lore Enlick’s Marblez book and… uhhh… accidentallies drops it in za fire. And zhen puts zhat fire out wizh… evens MORE fire! Zhat would please Ze Great ands Powerful Human Library Matriarch… and mabies get more betters books for Lady Pekkit. Yesyes?
If she can read the worst books, she’ll love the good ones.
Oooo… It does occur to me: OK, I understand why the librarian lent those books out. No loss if lost and actually a bit of a gain of shelf space. However… Yinglets are highly impressionable. And now Lord Inleck’s memoirs are now a primary material in one certain “smarter than the average Yinglet” brain as how human lords behave. And that that behavior is normal and expected as it is written down and handed out specially by the Librarian to new readers. Nothing bad could come of that…right?
Considering Valsalia’s penchant for small setup/payoffs, like The Lesson on Alcohol tavern visible in one of the first images of the town? I expect Lord Inleck to turn up in the story at some point. Probably something minor? But I could imagine Pekkit dazzling the lord with her knowledge of his exploits for example.
