Well, we know who SHOULD be teaching Kass how to defend demselves. Zhough wizh how often Zally is on de breeding schedule, dese “lessons” are likely not often enouzh for Kattajak’s liking because of zhat. Poor kids be born scrambled if she does dis while carrying a clutch!
No, this is sparring. Everything we know of Yinglets tells us they are emotional creatures. They both look focused and calm here. If this was actual hatred, at least one of them would be screaming.
This sparring match is going to end up on the floor in a pretzel of elbows and knees, neither of them able to move, but one of them in a strange submission hold that only works on another body that’s all elbows and knees.
The physical similarity does suggest as much. But remember that Yinglet family structures are not the same as human. Every Yinglet has several clutch-siblings, all of which share the same mother but multiple fathers due to their unconventional genetics. There are no only-child yinglets. Every yinglet in their generation will also share some of those fathers, and many the same mother due to the small number of breeding females. So every yinglet has not only several immediate siblings, but a large portion of the enclave population are their half-siblings. They are all one big family!
In this case though, given that Kattajack is old enough to have been appointed a patriarch, it is more likely that he is one of Zally’s fathers. It appears that the odd coloration trait is even stronger in him, extending to claws as well as teeth.
Yeah, I definitely believe they’re related, as similar as their physical traits are. But Kattajak’s reason for picking her to train in ying-fu might just be to give her an outlet for her boundless energy.
No one’s mentioned that this might also be a form of play, as opposed to a serious sparring match. Lots of animals, including humans, play-fight instinctively as a way to gain coordination for later-in-life combat / hunting.
is this how the yinglets do the sex

Kung-fu Slap-fight!
oh, they’re-….doing something. not sure what, but they’re certainly doing it!
I think we’re 90% sure this is a father-daughter sparring match, to make sure she’s keeping up with her training.

…Siblings. That is totally a sibling action. LOL, Those two are related in some way.

It probably extends to her claws too, but female yinglets usually paint their claws.

This explains why the males are afraid of mating with her: she’s not just excited, she’s STRONG.

SPOILER: I called it.
