Zo, perhaps de news Kalgkur’s oopsie has made it back to base? Also, time for fancy boi Lopin to get de red treatment, no? I like his outfit, I do, I do, but until he truly feels zhat he is a part of De Trademaster’s crew, can he truly relax?
I think so. The Trademaster is about to have a really long day. Best to stay well away from the action on days like that, lest you get caught up in it. Going to see the seamstresses would probably be a much better idea than going to see what’s happening. Does that mean Kass and company are almost certain to go see what’s happening?
Yeesh, I do feel bad for Kalgkur, dude just offed someone in front of de person he wanted to impress, and it is likely zhat he will get chained up alongside ole “He knows what he did” for his transgression. De Trademaster is a simple man, he likes simple solutions after all. Zo, for de life of me I do wish zhat Kass’s intuition in Prologue 36 is right, and Kalgkur gets Ying-ified as “punishment” for zhis instead of beng chained up next to ole’ crusty.
I strongly suspect HWKWHD tried to lead the baxxids to drive out (or enslave) the humans and take the city for themselves. Kal’s mistake is small potatoes next to that. The baxxids are going to feel they need to punish him, if only to ensure the public his actions do not represent the intentions of the rest of them, but that would be too extreme. I’m guessing some sort of banishment or indentured servitude (or even lifelong enslavement) to Val Salia is the more likely punishment, but we’ll see.
I’d say if zhere was a way to induce a Baxxid’s flower state, zhat might work, but I zhink de ozher Flowery Baxxid would object to Kalgkur being sent zhere. As for what ole crusty did, we don’t know (and can’t stand to look at zhe bugger long enouzh to ask) as for your suggestion, maybe it is how Kalgkur gets zhrown into Kass’s group.
But Zhe boss does have a soft spot for interspecies couples: https://www.valsalia.com/art-extras/interspecies-relations/ zo hopefully Kalgkur’s affection won’t be left behind like Kass’s dreams of Ginny was.
The trademaster has a special cloak he likes to wear when offing nobles. Somehow I don’t think a duly recognized guard (he has a hat and everything!) offing a two bit thief is going to warrant punishment.
It’s an advertisement for business. Come to Val Salia, trade under our baxxid security. The thieves will stay away… if they know whats good for them! Just hand out free complimentary wet naps…
Maybe, but you have to look into why zhat person was executed. Above all zhings, De trademaster believes in de survival of de people he looks after. Zheir security is his, and zhat humani who was killed has ozher humani in ValSalia who are watching de Trademaster closely for what he does next.
Even a Ying like I know zhat politics does not guarantee justice.
Hmm, an observation. As Kass has become more comfortable as a male presenting female yinglet, Kass’s snout has become razher more male in appearance. If not for Kass’s boobs, she would pass for a (girly-ish) male (at least until someone smelled Kass) in her current form.
I do wonder if “zhat zhing” is quite done wizh Kass at zhis point. Here’s Kass wizh a razher shorter, more feminine muzzle: https://www.valsalia.com/comic/out-of-placers/oops-014/
Eh, I think that’s just art evolution. Consider the baxxid from FG05, a few pages prior to the one you linked – it has a shorter, softer face, and its eyes are closer in size than what we see with the more recent baxxids.

Maybe, maybe, but in https://www.valsalia.com/comic/the-val-salian-regional-field-guide/fg04/ Feemales are described thusly: “Females have a short round snout and small shell tooth. These are considered feminine traits in males.”
So, a Feemale wizh a long, pointy snout looks pratically boy-ish.
I think it’s a combination of art evolution and Kass being a “handsome” female: not ugly or unattractive, but with a relatively boyish face. All the yinglets have been drawn with longer snouts than they were in the first few pages (Lopin for example), but some, like Poak and Lippie, still have relatively shorter snouts.
