This is an interesting mix of happy and sad, that Elim is making progress in his recovery but still stuck on the sidelines while Kass has to press on into the unknown. And still no indication who will be the diplomatic escort. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a question Elim is about to ask.
It’s going to be interesting to see if Kass will be living in the enclave, or just visiting frequently. In either case I look forward to his utter disdain for all things yinglet. And also, this may be vizlet’s chance to finally start picking kass’s brain for skills and trade-knowledge.
I also wonder if kass will be assigned a special yinglet body guard group (guards seem to always be in pairs or triplets, probably for pack tactics). Human guards would defeat the point of establishing trust, but no guards seems unwise after the attack in the city. We also haven’t seen kass interact with the other characters much. He was courted by Poak, and the spymaster tried (and failed) to flirt. That’s it though. The narklet, the hunting patriarch, the white-furred elder, and that super-feminine patriarch of farming would all have interesting things to talk about.
Just need to get another of those vials, I bet he’d be feeling far better as a yinglet!
…Wonder if there are funny glowing rocks for baxxid too?
Nice to see an update on Elim. (: Glad he has good care.
