She’s just looking out for his best interests, that’s all! Such a good Matriarch.
Narklet is unusually young for a Patriarch, but clearly the High Elders saw something special in him.

RIP Fancy hat [F] o7
The surprise twist is that it has actually been dead the whole time
I dunno… I heard there were sightings of Elvis and Tupac taking turns wearing it in public

So I was right the first time, the artifacts are something the Patriarchs are hiding from Vizlet. I suppose she gave the order to capture Lopin in hopes that she could get to him before the Patriarchs do. Kass provided her a convenient way to get another shot at learning what Lopin knows.
Vizlet is definitely quick on her feet, as the saying goes to describe someone who can make good decisions on a moments notice (looks left and right for the Misconstruer, who delights in takes comments on this forum at literal value), so we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out. She also teases out a confession that Narklet is indeed in on the conspiracy, and that he is middle management on the matter. I guess the elders saw in Narklet a yinglet who would think before he spoke!
On an unrelated note: I think I know Kattajak’s weakness! Talking about feelings, and emotions, and all that mushy stuff.
Not sure what to make of Vizlet’s raised tail. In dogs, that would be a sign of an alpha. DoGSM these are not. Sexually making herself more attractive while complimenting Narklet? She must be laying it on extra thick to keep him content, and malleable. Is she…. releasing musk or pheromones as well?
In the last panel, Kassen is right about having to beat up Lopin. If they are to have an on going working relationship, if Kassen were to ‘be the bigger man’ and NOT beat up Lopin, then the deep set resentment and anger will continue to build up and increase in toxicity until he explodes one day. Best to get it out and in the open so that they can work on it right away and move on to a more healthy workingredients partnership.
While we haven’t seen Vizlet’s tail in-panel for quite some time, I’m under the imression she always holds it high. I think it’s the yinglet equivalent of prim and proper good posture.
Aw yeah, love it when some quality observation like this gets posted. You’re definitely catching onto a lot of little things!
He looks so lost, but then the Yinglits do that so well. Now that I think of it, Yinglits seem like a less ‘evolved’ Salarians from the Masst Effect universe.
They live fast, die young and are fairly excitable.
You know, now that I think about it. This is a strength of the comic. Rather than showing everyone in control, everyone able to handle this strange situation, you show realistic responses. Lopin looks so lost, but at the same time, I get the feeling that he can recover from the problems he made.
Kass is coming to accept her/his new reality, and understands the rules have changed. I honestly wish the comic updated more often, but hey, I understand quality takes time.
Yeah, the Salarian comparison is pretty apt, aside from the “heightened brain activity” thing they got going on.
And I’m glad you’re enjoying that aspect; I’m aiming to make the focus of this story on the characters and their daily interactions, rather than a huge epic plotline.
People tend to forget that personal stories and drama can be as epic as a Lord of the Rings styled battle scene. It is all about the balance of trauma and recovery really. Keep up that balance and things will work well for you. Another tip, make your mythology and physics ‘rules/laws’ consistent and we will love you all the more.
Having a story with set rules can be followed and understood after all.
You reap what you sow. Now let’s find out what exactly that is.
Turns out it’s tomatoes.
Yeah, they saw how intellectual he is mingled with blind devotion to whatever they say.
Farewell,Lopin’s Fancy Hat.Your bravery and astonishing fanciness will not be forgoten ;_;7
I very much doubt Kass will have her new servant go around fancy hatless. I mean what’s the point of owning a fancy-lad if you’re not going to spring for the fancy?
It’s nice to see that people understand the importance of Lopin’s Hat! It is a very important character that ties the plot together in subtle ways.
Just wait until he learns that you can make… More hats. He’ll be an early proponent of Team Fortress 2 fashion, by wearing hats on his hats. Critical Fancy, please keep a safe distance.
either that or he may become the yinglet version of the Mad Hatter …. somehow I think fancy-hatter would make the current Mad Hatter look completely sane as if played by Matt Damon.
Yeah Kass! Show that fancy minion who’s in charge here.
This is why I love this comic, everyone of the main characters feels real while still being likable. Kassen, even though she will kick yinglet tail later, has a soft heart in many ways from what we have seen so far, and will probably be relatively kind to Lopin. As for Lopin in the last panel, it makes me feel for the guy. I may not have been exiled, or branded a traitor, but in grade school through middle school and even into some of high school, I was constantly teased. Kids took and destroyed things of mine called me a girl because I was either smart or because I wasn’t into sports or the like, even though I had no problem with the idea of being one it was that it was an insult which to this day still makes no sense to me, how is it wrong to be a gal? Anyway the point is I have had moments in my life when I felt like the world decided it we my lot in life to be screwed, so it actually really made me feel bad… I think I’ve talked enough I should have waited till later when I was at home instead of on break at work to comment, but, eh whatever… Sorry for the long and rambling post.
Nice to hear that the focus on the characters is having the intended effect! I don’t plan on torturing the protagonists the way some stories do, but the running theme of this comic is people that have been forced out of their comfort zone in some way.
I wonder what the other artifacts do. I’m sure we’ll eventually find more as Vizlet uncovers the truth and it’ll be cool to see what they do and why they’re being sealed behind such secrecy. Also, how on earth did Lopin end up finding one?
As I understand it the artifacts turn up buried in beaches and rivers. Combing and scavenging these areas for food and items is a common yinglet trade, so they tend to stumble on these artifacts more than other races. Lopin was just another beach comber who happened to find an artifact, and likely didn’t know what it was.
It’s also suggested that the yinglets (presumably under the direction of the Elders) have a knack for looking in the right places for these things.
Oh, that makes sense. Is that a theory or did you read that somewhere? If you read it somewhere I must’ve missed it.
The Trademaster discussed it a bit with Kass on page 36 of the prologue.
Lopin as much as said his items came from the beach on page 10 of the prologue.
The artist has also dropped a few hints in the comments here and there, though is mostly vert secretive. I’m not going to go digging through hundreds of comments to track those down though.
Thanks for the tip. I need to re-read that discussion with the trademaster. I don’t think I payed quite as much attention to it as I should have.
A re-read can be very rewarding, almost as much as going thru the comments sections and scanning for the more informative Val Salia comments. Although the F.A. comments are more quantitative than the D.A. comments, so it depends on how much time you are willing to invest
Yeah; I purposely drop all sorts of hints/info that make a lot of sense of things on a second readthrough!
Lopin’s fancy hat got me wondering; where do yinglets get their clothes, fancy or otherwise? My best guess is that they mostly just save up and buy them from humans. Since the yinglet population in the city is not insignificant and house-yinglets are a thing, there are probably a few merchants and tailors that cater to yinglet needs.
Despite the elaborate clothes worn by the females and some others, I’ve seen no evidence that our local enclave has such capable textile makers and tailors. Other yinglet enclaves might be capable of such things though. Probably Figgins and his underlings trade for and provide most of the fine clothing in the enclave.
Yep, most of their clothing and other self-decorations are made by humans and traded for/stolen and repurposed, which is why only the few high-ranking (and/or female) yinglets have custom-made clothing for their size and proportions.
I’m also guessing that due to the prevalence of giant insects in this world, silk is one of the more common materials for clothing, though probably not as fine as what we normally think of as silk. No sign of any sheep for wool; plant materials such as cotton, flax and hemp are probably present though, or at least similar equivalents. Chitin can also be refined into fabrics, but I’m not sure about the technology required.
I’m curious where their leather comes from. It might be possible to get it from the giant insects and lizards we’ve seen, but I assume there are other mammals we have not seen yet (considering this world has produced at least two intelligent mammalian species, three if Isher counts).
NO THE HAT
NOT THE HAT
NOOOOOO
but he’s probably still gonna get his ass whooped, isn’t he. RIP.
Poor Lopin. I so want to hug him. ;-;
Sure, but each hug costs $250
Why, that reprehensible little con artist! And to think I actually felt bad for that hat!
The plot thickens.
R.I.P Fancy Hat. You will be missed. Time to sacrifice more as yet unborn children for more updates.
Friend of mine pointed me to this webcomic and I just finished going through it all. Really enjoying the story and the art so far, loving all the different creatures and how it all interacts. I was afraid the heavy accents in some of them would make understanding them difficult, but doesn’t seem to be the issue. Love the world building, you did a great job filling out a very intricate but also somewhat open ended world.
Also, this is probably terrible, but I’ve already thought up a stupid little fan character in my head (I tend to do that when I really like a series or world). So yeah, this is certainly a good series going in my favorites tab.
Awesome! Love it when someone directs a buddy to this comic. And yeah, I experimented with a few different mouth designs (and resulting accents) before going with this one, as I really didn’t want it to be a chore to read.
And yes, make up all the characters you like! I think it’s flattering anytime someone likes these little things enough to want to make their own.
Still your story, I’m just here along for the ride 😀
Considering how small they are, I might end up making a Yinglet miniature with some custom parts and a few re-purposed Kobold pieces.
There has already been discussions for developing a Yinglet player race for a pen and paper role playing game system or two. Think d20 was one of them, not sure.
Yeah, that sounds like an interesting project to mess with.
If I end up making any progress on the Yinglet miniature I’ll be sure to post up something. I might try and design it so that I can make an easy dump mold with it and make enough to assemble an entire clan or something.
There’s no stopping the onslaught of OCs budding off of any good comic. Embracing it is probably the best way to go if you value your sanity. :p
Huh, just finished reading. This is actually very good.
Ever considered a Patreon?
The artist can’t guarantee regular updates, so I don’t think that’s an option. There is a donate button if you want to support the comic though.
I have, although like Van said, I want to tighten up my art and production rate before opening one up. I’ve been told there’s a Patreon model that charges per page released (as opposed to a monthly rate) though, so that makes it a whole lot more likely that I’ll open one sometime soon.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the story enough to want to pay for it, though! The thought is a real motivator.
You don’t have to treat it like a paywall or product, I’ve subscribed to artists and projects with literally no goals aside from putting a few bucks in their tip jar every month. I just binged the comic after seeing a few pics of those dangerously adorable little scavs around /trash/ and I’m hooked, I’d love to contribute a regular donation.
I prefer patreon for a combination of keeping track of all donations in one place and also (predominately) just being really lazy and being able to click on the orange button that already knows me instead of having to go find a card.
Either way though, thanks for the quality work! I really love your sense of humor as well as the racial designs you’ve come up with and the characters are all very interesting as well. Gold stars all around ++
Well thanks a lot for writing that! Honestly, my biggest worry about using Patreon at first was that I’d need to set incentive goals, like custom sketches per month for certain tiers, and all that; and that it might get in the way of actually drawing comics.
So seriously, hearing that really alleviates a lot of my worries about starting one up, so if aI open a Patreon in the near future, you can be certain you had a lot to do with it.
Incentives and patron exclusive things are what I’ve come to hate about patreon. It really sucks missing out on parts of something you love just because you can’t afford to pay what is basically a subscription fee.
It becomes even more difficult when every artist and creator you like has their own patreon with their own paywalled content.
It’s a bit of an internal conflict for me though because I also believe that an artist/creator should always have the right to charge money for their work. So I can’t really fault them for doing that, and as long as the main comic remains free I can’t really complain.
I fully support patreon as a means for fans to support and donate to a creator they like. When it comes to free web content though, if it’s the creator’s intent to generate revenue I’d rather they stick to traditional means: website ads (keep them low key though), and merchandising.
As far as patreon goals go, the only one I typically care about is the own where the artist quits their day job and works on the comic full-time.
A good method for Patreon is the one Linkara uses. Patreon subscribers get access a week early, but he still grants everyone access to it in the end.
A sneek peek gate is perfectly fine for me. I myself an not a fan of paywall gates to a point.
I have one podcast I follow, and I donate at a higher tier, and because of it, I got to guest star on there. But I wanted to donate the amount anyways, so the guest star was a bonus for me.
You know whats funny at least to me. I was working on a race of creatures for a contest in the hopes of getting them into this game I like to play. I call them Gremlins, there inspired by the therapids from the permian-triassic period mixed in with celtic themes. There are alot of differences, one of which is that males have antlers, but they do share similar size. Also my Gremlins evolved to live in a mountainous partially subterranean environment.
I just think its kind of funny.
I tried to write a webcomic in high school, had it all inked up to 130 pages and was excited to start saving for a scanner when I got a job.
Then I started reading more webcomics when I got regular internet access, discovered Gunnerkrigg Court, and found out I had unknowingly created a pretty blatant ripoff through sheer coincidence.
You know. The thing that you did well, is create a believable inhuman race and I thank you for it. All to often non-human races end up with the Gimli flaw, where everyone of that race is like the singular representative.
You started with the Gimli, the stereotype, and built from there, and I thank you for that. Also thank you for using multiple non-humans as main characters. All too often (IMO only) fantasy and scifi shies away from that, and I am oh so bored of humanity in those stories. The non-humans are more interesting to me honestly. They are new, humans are all to familiar and bland.
Glad you’re enjoying that aspect! It’s easy to put in a nonhuman character as a fun diversion, but neglect to think of them in terms of full characters. It’s something Iv’e seen a lot, and wanted to avoid doing that here.
It’s why I like shows and comics like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers and such. But only when they explore the biology or mentality of the characters. We need to know who, why, where and more to understand them. Keep expanding and growing our info. We will love you all the more for it. Also, on a side note. I love what the IDW Comics have done to Megatron. After 30 years of mythology, something new!
I’m so happy that I found this comic. Honestly one of the best I’ve ever read, and I caught up to it in a day. Anxiously waiting for the next update. Great art, and great story telling.
Well damn, I’m glad you’re enjoying this so much! “One of the best” is a strong statement, when there is so much else to read online.
Hey, are we going to see any cute fluffy yinglet kids running around? A human village like theirs has kids underfoot everywhere. You have to figure there must be a lot of them somewhere, what with the yinglet’s rather high need for replacements due to deaths by “misadventure”.
Maybe they are kept hidden until they are fully grown, which could be pretty quick? (the pigeon model–or things like gulls or eagles, which are full-size in a month or so, then live for quite a few decades with no little or no signs of aging?)
You got it, actually! They’re raised in nurseries until they’re old enough to scavenge for food on their own, by which time they’ve lost their signature baby fluff.
Hmmm–their reproductive model also suggests they should have a tradition of swapping breeding individuals between enclaves to avoid inbreeding with their quite limited gene pool. Since individuals really can’t be sure who the father was, the matriarchs have no way of preventing two closely related yinglets, maybe even half siblings, from having offspring and matching up harmful recessive mutations, though that would explain some of the freaky variations…and maybe they don’t have that great of an understanding of how inbreeding works yet. (if their genetic model is close to ours)
I’ll have to speculate that at least some of the females have traveled from other enclaves, and another reason why Kass is so welcome, regardless of her origin, is that she represents “fresh blood”.
Annnd you guessed right! There is a fair amount of swapping that goes on, in order to give struggling enclaves the type of growth they need.
with their massive mutation rate inbreeding is probably less significant of an issue
Well, in our world, most random mutations are harmful, or neutral at best. It’s a lot easier to break an intricate mechanism by randomly changing something in it than to improve it, but harmful traits’ effects can be lessened if only one parent provides it, so the offspring can have at least one copy of a working gene. Inbreeding means a greater risk of both parents having a copy of the bad gene and the kid ending up with two copies, losing the lottery.
I think that this is an Amazing comic. I find it Incredibly impressive that you have thought out everything in this unique universe. Everything in this comic seems very unique and has their own unique characteristics. My only wish is that I could read more of this universe we are in. Thank you for producing this amazing comic!
Well you are in luck my friend, because I am indeed not stopping this story anytime soon! You’ve stumbled upon it in its early stages, so I’m glad you’re enjoying it so much already.
is there a map of the world with country lines and major / minor cities, water bodies, capitals, alliances and warring factions?
possibly what date it is compared to real time? and even how fast new developments happen? It seems like it is in a europe-ish land around 1400 ad just before cannons were widely used (this world may not even have gun powder). for the development side of the question when would their space race start and possibly the first mass produced cars and electricity?
I have been playing with the idea of writing a ww2 ish altered history based on the world you have created. So knowing dates when piston powered aircraft and mechanized warfare starts would be a good thing. It would also be useful to have a list of intelligent beings in your world and how other beings view them and how they view others. Other mannerisms would be good too like baxxids will probably become very proficient bankers, tax experts, book keepers, physicists, chemists, and any other job that deals in numbers.
I always figured that this world, or at least the local region, was around start of the Iron Age. That would put it closer to 1400 BC than 1400 AD in our world.
well we do see books with hard covers along with regular paper on scrolls and such. Not to mention regular peasants (book in Ishers house) and even yinglets (The Waters Beyond) have reasonable access to them. So this puts them at atleast 500 AD at a minimum but even then only the extremely wealthy would ever even see a book. In the extras page showing yinglets being lead to war with flintlock guns you can see they are still acting like normal scatterbrained yinglets and that might not be the case if there was 3215 years of development time from 1400 BC to June 18, 1815 AD where they (or atleast the ones willing to be drafted) may still be in the scatterbrained stage if it was only 415 years which I now have my doubts.
I now suspect it is Europ-ish 1600s which would give only 200 years until 1815 and since we dont see that many guards with armor or even chain mail I suspect they probably are using some sort of gun in this day and age but this particular town is not very militarized and probably gets protection from allies more than anything.
also 1400 BC is too far back just simply because of the shoes even 1400 AD is too far back considering how many people are wearing shoes.
The image with the guns is a “What if?” type of commission, it has no bearing on the comic’s setting.
You also shouldn’t expect the technology in this world to progress in an exact parallel to our world. Some areas may have progressed relatively faster and slower than ours. Both on a global scale and a local scale.
The ValSalia tradehouse seems to value knowledge to a degree greater than the rest of the world, as the Trademaster implied. They have a large library free to access to members of the tradehouse. This would explain the abundance of books. It does not seem they have printing press technology, everything is hand written.
As for clothing items, they’re not very detailed artistically, so it’s hard to say how advanced they are. They do clearly have good sewing ability, and an abundance of red dye, but that doesn’t mean much technologically.
Those are good points and yes it is a what if. But disregarding the what if I would still have to put them around 1400-1600 AD our time simply due to the fact they have paper and widespread writing. ValSalia can’t be so far in head of the rest of the world that they are the only ones who use and make paper and bind them into books. We also have no idea if there is a printing press or not but I cannot find anything that looks printed.
They are also using quill pens. (which do not have the barbs peeled back far enough and are probably too thin to pull the ink)
There is the fact there is eye glasses.
There are also regular modern looking steel door hinges where there should be large wrought iron ones for heavy wood doors. which are somehow held up with tiny little set screws. (but I think this may be nitpicking)
The ornateness might not be so much the way they are but the need for simplicity in drawing a comic.
The eye glasses are the strongest argument for your tech level, it’d be pretty hard to invent those with brass age technology. They weren’t invented till 13th century in our world.
However, if they can melt glass, they can probably figure out simple magnification through convex lenses. If they figure that out then it might not take long for someone to realize they can strap them to the faces of people with bad eyesight. The basics are pretty simple, it just requires someone with the right ideas to play around with glass.
Paper and parchment was invented in the middle of the iron age in our world, it’s not a huge stretch to invent it at the start. Plus, for all we know the “paper” might be a natural product some of the giant bugs or insectiod races produce, like hornets make paper nests.
There are several intelligent species on this world besides human, all developing their own technology based on biology and thought processes alien to us. There are also different flora and fauna in the world, providing different resources and motivations. There is also a possibility of a highly advanced precursor civilization, they artifacts of which may have inspired and rapidly advanced certain fields of technology.
So really, while it’s fun to guess, this world is so alien it’s pretty much pointless to try and line up their technology to ours. I still think that overall they’re more primitive than you think, but probably they’re somewhere in between both our guesses, with some tech ahead and some behind.
That difficulty about trying to pin them down is correct especially when you consider they are using really heavy stones for transport carts and nobody thought of making carts steerable as can be seen with both carts in the first scenes.
These are all solid points! Various types of technology/crafts are at different levels than on Earth, but this region is comparable to Western Europe between 1300-1600 in general.
And some areas have access to specialized crafting, which then get imported all over the place.
With that being said, Kass and Elim just got one of the cheap crappy carts for that job.
Looks like you were right suzukiman.
I’m a little disappointed, part of the comic’s appeal for me was how primitive I thought the setting was. There is a million medieval fantasy comics and stories, not so many set earlier than that.
What happens when there is a really sharp turn? This is tiplod abuse!! I will file this with whichever government office handles animal abuse!
By the way how much would some of those steaks be? I hope they have not all been sold over the last few days.
Ancient people had the technology to create lenses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimrud_lenses
The Romans could have created eyeglasses if they had a theory of optics; they had the technology. Anyway, they seem to have been invented about 1300 CE in our world, which would fit in with the overall medieval level of development in Val Salia.
I forgot to mention a thing about the Ivenmoth uniforms which definitely puts it closer to 1600s.
Well…this is a little embarrassing.
I must have been so tired I failed to notice the ‘next’ button last night, I only focused on the archive, which currently ends at page 30 of this chapter.
Well…at least now I can say I’m actually caught up now. :L
I’m sorry for posting a comment on that page, I really should have made sure it was the last one.
Still an amazing comic. I can’t wait to see what this guy says to Kass.
Ach, that’s the one part I have a habit of forgetting after I upload a new page; thanks for the reminder.
it is interesting it seems Vizlet knows more about what is going on with these artifacts than Narklet. It seems Narklet has simply been ordered by the elders to report any “artif’s” (I don’t actually know what the rest of the word may have come out as when said by a yinglet, for example artifax and its plural artifaxs) and probably hand them over, other than that he probably knows nothing at all. Narklet may have been told where to dig or what to look for to dig there. This would make sense else Narklet might have put up more of a fight to question Lopin, but instead he figures Lopin just saw cash and kept the atif to sell for his own profit. Then again this may just be showing how intelligent Vizlet is compared to well nearly everyone else in the room, and her ability to not only completely derail other yinglet thought processes but completely erase them from the individuals mind.
So far we know Viracroix knows of these artifs and that at least the local yinglets are very good at digging them up and knowing where to find them. The fact that Vizlet had said “I would use different words, but if zis is true, it concerns me greatly.” This tells us both of them know something about these artifs. Viracroix wants to profit off them or research them and Vizlet is worried about something probably what the Elders want them for. We don’t really know how much info Vizlet is giving Viracroix or vice versa on these artifs but the fact she not so quietly told Kass to take Lopin we can assume there is some information sharing happening since it would be unreasonable for Vizlet to assume Kass and Elim would not report Lopin to Viracroix. Either that or Vizlet simply did not have any other reasonable way to keep Lopin alive to find out what his orders had been from Narklet, so effectively giving this data to Viracroix and furthering his search is a better plan than loosing the data in a permanent fashion. I also think if Lopin was offered a new had and sailor outfit for info he may spill all the info he has show them where everything is that they were digging and also probably give them data he actually doesn’t have.
Narklet is aware enough that he realizes Kass might be eavesdropping but I don’t want to give him that much credit since he may have simply caught himself anyway if anyone was there even just a normal yinglet. I suspect it is also not particularly hard to listen to “private” conversations seeing what the walls are made of, which has made me curious how others have not heard many of the conversations between Vizlet and Kass.
Kass now might have some slight hope of turning back into a human but I think this is very fleeting and more a plot hook to keep him going and not worrying Isher like on page 19 of the prologue
Also is there a map of the enclave with labels to which rooms what happened in?
we also do not know how long this has been going on but Vizlet is sure Narklet was sent just to make sure she keeps everything traditional and not let established knowledge seep in. This may also be why she doesn’t care so much about Viracroix getting his data since she did tell Kass that she wants him to bring her enclave to a point where it can compete in real markets, or at least build a house. We are also currently unsure of what help Viracroix has promised or given so far. It may simply be training and schooling for info on where these artifs are. Currently I do not think Narklet knows anything of her talks with Viracroix. At this point I think Vizlet is plotting less unknown-to-Kass stuff than Viracroix.
I also find it strange why Vizlet doesn’t simply ask Kass to bring some rum or other intoxicating agent to get Narklet drunk.
You have a number of salient points Mr. Suzuki. First and foremost is the one you mention about how you should not assume to know what someone (Narklet) knows. You may be right that he simply was following orders & doesn’t know the full extent of what the ramifications of his actions are.
That being said, when reading page 20 when Vizlet popped her ears up and her hood fell off after Kassen told her she hadn’t slept since last night makes me believe this is the first time the thought ever crossed her mind. Since Vizlet previously had mentioned at the meeting with the trademaster on page 34 of the prolog, she says that for Kassen to have been a human would have to be either magic or a miracle. Since Val Salia mentioned himself that magic doesn’t exist in his world, this makes it sound like Vizlet was being flippant about the idea of transformation.
On another point you had about how it may be easy to eavesdrop in on the Matriarch and Kassen’s conversation, that would be Biezel’s expertise. And we have not seen him since the meeting of the Patriarchs…
And last point you made it want to mention about getting Narklet drunk. Perhaps yinglets, having a high poison resistance, makes them metabolize alcohol differently than you may expect. Maybe it takes enough to make a human black out to get them buzzed, unless it is the complete opposite end of the spectrum where it just kills them outright? Perhaps grain alcohol can’t be absorbed but fruit based alcohol can? Val Salia would have to weigh in on that one.
That is true I think she gave it very small thought at the talk with Viracroix then dismissed it till the sleeping question.
I just figured with all the cloth and wood walls it should be very easy to listen in on nearly everything.
That is true but they must have some sort of vice that gets them too loosen up more. It could be that till now nobody has needed to find that substance all things considered.
Another thought is they could dye Lopin’s hair and give him a normal scav outfit and he may be able to glean more info especially since he seems a bit more together and smarter than most including Narklet. Salesman skills can be used for spy work pretty easily, both lines of work are about convincing people of something.
I also suspect Lopin had no idea what the thing he sold would do and after he finds out what it did to Kassen remembering he was paid double for it Lopin might just melt into a puddle of groveling sorries. This would also help endear him to the cause of finding out what these things are and have the bonus affect of stopping Kass from smeking him … as much.
I would love to know what Lopin does to remove blood stains from white shirts. Or did he change shirts since his scrap with the unnamed brown scav.
Its called tide to go
I do all my washing in tide.
Because it’s too damn cold OutTide.
*rimshot*
Shit, the latest page. I guess I’ll have to read all of the extra story things now.
Seriously looking forward to the next update 😮
ALMOST FEEL BAD
Lopin, perhaps if you are good to Kass, she’ll get you the fanciest hat of them all. You won’t feel like a naked rat with Kass’s very special fancy hat.
