It is ironic that the best thing Kass can do at the moment involves a further loosening of his feeling of control over his life.
It is so funny!

worth the wait, your art’s growing stronger with each page
Thanks! It really helps to have art buddies who give all sorts of useful feedback.
And, well, drawing a lot of the same stuff a million times.
Oh man. What a sky shot! You just get better and better
I didn’t even have to draw it this week; it’s been finished for months and has been sitting on this site’s background!
…Why yes, I have indeed been eager to get it in the comic, thanks for asking.
It is great! My jaw dropped. 🙂
Whoa yeah! Their star must have formed from the shock front from the super nova that made that Nebula. As an upside they’re probably almost guaranteed to not have to worry about another one taking them out, any stars that would have been triggered by that would have blown themselves already, and long before a planet could have taken shape around their home star.
Sounds like Kass has a case of learning when to delegate. after all, he/she is technically an officer now and the others (besides being good friends who care about him) are basically his subordinates now. He has his own little squad to help him out.
Yep! Just one more thing to learn, crammed into a short period where there is an incredible amount to learn.
Wow. I can so relate to Kass right now. After my early promotions I feltabout as disoriented as him/her and the learning curve is about dead on. Leadership when done right is no cake walk.
I am trying to imagine a Kliment Voroshilov 2 being “manned” by Yinglets. I can allow some leeway in competence in a commander, driver, and to a lesser extend a gunner. But not the loader. I absolutely cannot imagine a skav loading bunker buster rounds into the breach.
unless the loader were a Gomer whose mutation made him bigger than Poak… maybe almost human sized…
Could be worse. The early models of the T-72 had an automatic loading mechanism with “an unfortunate tendency to load the gunner, resulting in grievous injury” (according to an old issue of Popular Mechanics).
I now have a mental picture, not of a skav loading shells into the breech, but a skav being loaded into the breech.
(P.S., when it says “an unfortunate tendency to load the gunner”, I’m not entirely sure if that means trying to load the gunner into the breech, or trying to load a 125mm shell somewhere that the sun don’t shine, if you catch my drift. I guess it doesn’t really matter… either one is going to result in grievous injury.)
Which has an entirely different connotation than “loading the dish washer” which means “getting the wife drunk”.
Maybe if there was a yinglet shaped sabot… that would be somewhere between yinglet tossing & yinglet space program =D
It’s odd that you should mention the Yinglet space program, ’cause I’ve got a (somewhat science fiction) theory about the Yinglets and the artifacts (aka Zat Zhing).
My theory is probably totally wrong, but could lead to an interesting sci-fi spinoff, if anyone wants to hear it (the theory, not the pitch for the spinoff. I am an awesome fiction reader, but not a good fiction writer.)
Have at, this is the place for theorists to do their thing
Well… bear with me on this, because this is more science fiction than fantasy. But what if the Greater Yinglets were once even greater than they are now? What if the artifacts (aka “Zat Zhing”) are neither magic nor alchemy… but nanotechnology?
Suppose the Yinglets once had a technologically advanced civilization, but for whatever reason… maybe an impending disaster that they couldn’t survive, but the Lesser Yinglets could, or maybe just boredom (waiting until another sapient species evolves so they’ll have someone else to talk to), they buried or destroyed all evidence of their civilization, created and buried the artifacts in places the Lesser Yinglets were likely to find them, and deliberately “devolved” themselves back into Lesser Yinglets.
In that case, the artifacts were really meant for the Lesser Yinglets, to kickstart evolution back towards the advanced race that they once were, and maybe somewhere out there they left a repository of their lost knowledge to be found “when the time is right”.
So, when Kass got squirted by zat zhing, the nanotech wasn’t meant to work on humans, but it had to work with what it had at hand. The one thing that this DOESN’T explain is the violation of Conservation of Mass… Kass lost a LOT of mass when he became a Yinglet. Also, you’d think that even with nanotech, the transformation wouldn’t happen as fast as it did.
But, as a famous scientist once said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. (And any technology, no matter how advanced, seems like magic to those who don’t understand it.)
My ponderings are limited, but I too have thought of Spaceship Ratbirds. Partly because it would be adorable, and partly because all the supposed Zhings are found in the water, when the tide is low(best place to hide a crashed ship). Also the Yinglets appeared Out Of Nowhere, but with rapid spreading and Natural Selection(no, don’t hunt the giant Murderwolf. Also, don’t stick your fork in him, that’s even worse).
The hole is that Yinglets should never be allowed near a spaceship, or self-propelled Zhing of any sort. Perhaps fully embiggenated Greater Yinglets, but not the current flailing ADHD sorts.
Val has stated that there’s no magic in this universe, so the TF must have been technological. Where the extra Kass mass went is bothersome–if it had involved a lot of smelly smoke, we could say it went into that, water vapor, and CO2, as nanomachine exhaust, but without that I would have to guess excess mass as liquid politely, discreetly drained through the floorboards out of frame in the comic. Without that, you have to invoke superduper-technological extra dimensions or conversion to dark matter scenarios.
Actually with the heat of the reaction most of the human body would be easily made gaseous, like you guessed. The only real solid excess would be things like calcium from the bones, which would just be a dull grayish powder.
Yinglets in space would probably require a lot of human-built AI fully automating the ship, or possibly involving neurally linking a pilot yinglet with a neural substrate with a better attention span than one’s average goldfish.
I think those comments about loading the gunner were rather overstated. There’s a big plate in the way of the loading arm, so the gunner would have to go out of his way to put himself in the way of the dangerous machinery. Here’s an interesting video of the T-64 loading (similar loading mechanism, though more advanced).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4B4Yd6q-zg
It’s a training tank with a poor fume extractor, hence the load of smoke filling the cabin after shooting.
I did a little more research. Apparently, the quip about “loading the gunner” comes from trying to clear a jammed autoloader, which increases the chance of the gunner’s arm getting caught in the loading mechanism.
The early autoloaders jammed somewhat frequently; the second generation of autoloaders had a failure rate of 1 every 3000 rounds… pretty impressive reliability.
Pulleys and rollers my friend. I have it all figured out.
Soon, more than that. She is a female yinglet, and female yinglets are treated like royalty by yinglets, and look there, she just acquired Lopin. The Ivenmoth population of yinglets has increased to 2. Give Kass and Lopin a few months, and you’ll see a population explosion. Any individual with that kind of power needs to learn to delegate. You lose a little control over the daily flow and order of your individual life, but gain so much more very real power and control overall, that it easily makes up for it. It all boils down to Kass taking a step back, and looking at what she has, and deciding what she wants out of her new life, such as it is. She might dislike what was done to her, but really, she’s in a much better position than she might think right now.
That seems less like a nap and more like an interruption of concisenesses, and believe me those are different things. In computer terms Kass would be looking a error screen about now. Hopefully they will actually sleep normally in the future, rather that passing out from exhaustion.
On another note that a good example of a true friend right there, someone who will tell you something for your own good, rather than try and spare your feelings. Someone who will tell you what you need to know rather than what you want to hear. That and not be an ass about it.
Hard truths are often the most important to hear!

I like the dichotomy between Kass’s human psychology and her Yinglet insticts. It’s like her id and her super ego have both overpowered her ego, and are now battling for supremacy, giving her an almost split personality. :p Particularly as displayed when in one page, she’s excited about potentially impressing the male Yinglets, and then several pages later she’s awkwardly turning one of them down.
Haha, nice way of putting it! There is indeed a lot of deep psychological bullshit going on in Kass’ head right now; if he was a computer, he’s retained all the data on his hard drive, but has had a major change in hardware and operating system.
He was running Human OS and is now running YingLinux.
Nah, more like Windows Ying. Kassen-PC needs to restart to install updates. Restart now, or in 15 minutes? We’re sorry, you have Human drivers installed, which are not xYing compatible.
@&$k! Time to restart in safe mode and figure out what it installed this time…
Security updates, and a new feature; you are now driven to squealing excitement at the sight of keys being jingled.
Better than redownloading the correct video card drivers so I can actually get video…
Comparing Yinglets to Linux is doing both a disservice. Linux is extremely secure and stable, while Yinglet psychology might be better compared to something younger and buggier, perhaps Haiku?
Humans might be compared more to OpenBSD, big and clunky, but more stable and secure. Hypnotizing yinglets might be amusing.
The moths will create their uprising yet.
Observe the yellow moth. It watches the flame, but knows not to approach too closely. It knows this.
The power of flame, power of the gods… In the end, it is all beyond our reach.
And so, flame allures us, and we attempt to harness its power.
Flame, dear flame…
Stumbled upon your comic 2 days ago; been binge reading it in my free time. Fantastic work and great job on it all!
Ey, cool! Glad you’ve found and enjoyed this so far. Good timing too, with this being the end of this story arc.
As long as it is not THE end! Heh. You now have me enthralled with your wonderful works and for the journey ahead.
Monthly update ? 4 days till hope fades :.|
hMBWAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHA-wait >:L
Haha, I can see that. Though considering the local wildlife and such, it might be sung by chittering/screeching bug-things.
That nebula is beautiful, and I think I see lettering of some sort in Kass’s vision there but I can’t be sure…
Now to see if we find out how they took care of the situation.
I think that is just the ‘squiggles’ in the eye we all get.
Probably right.
Off topic the nebula gave me this idea for a stellaris yinglet race portrait mod… heh.
Actually, the “squiggles” in panel 3… I swear I’ve seen those symbols somewhere before. I just can’t place where. Reminds me of alchemical symbols.
Looks to me something like draconic text, which in some interpretations looks like a bunch of serpentine scratched-lines, maybe meant to resemble calligraphy from a claw.
Sometimes that kind of language is used for magical script in fantasy settings; otherwise they’ll use arcane runes of a design usually made up for the setting.
Sometimes you get stuff with a more blocky, historical Germanic/Norse look; a curved, flourished design similar to Tolkien’s Tengwar script; or a mix, or more pictorial bits.
I think there just veins in their eye.
Who’s to say that eye veins don’t spell something in some language??!??!?
Actualy I have been wondering about the runes that shes seeing when she wakes up myself, took me a bit to finnaly bite the bullet and comment on it though.
Oh, minor question: how do you pronounce Isher?
Like “fisher,” minus the F.
huh. I’ve been calling her [ai]sher this whole time.
For those wondering if there are secrets hidden in the dream panels; I’ve fiddled with them a bunch in Photoshop and found nothing. There just seems to be random squiggly shapes. If there was something there it was lost in the jpg image compression.
I think that is just the ‘squiggles’ in the eye we all get.
It is right and good that you went through the effort of checking.
Nice! I guess that answers my question from last time about the nebula. (Van was correct.)
Which nebula is it? I don’t recognize it.
I think it’s a composite image of various nebulas to create something unique to this world.
Or is it a familiar nebula from a unfamiliar angle? WHO CAN TELL?
So has Kass awakened sometime before midnight, and is now going to run around with frantic energy for the next five hours? That would have to be the most annoying things about yinglets yet, not to mention why they could attract nocturnal predators out in the sticks.
And she must be famished again; she hasn’t eaten anything except some ‘freshmens and a clam or two since lunch, and her high metabolism must have gone through that by now. Is there room service in the Teeth, or a kitchen where she can grab a bowl of stew or a chunk of meat?
It’s not one we have charted; parts of it is inspired by existing nebulas, but I wanted to paint a custom one in the style of a huge “bubble” of dark clouds being lit from within.
Did you actually paint it from scratch? If so, I’m impressed.
Though if it’s a composite image it’s still very well done.
I like how it came out. It looks like an amalgamation of the Orion Nebula and the Pillars of Creation.
Yes, when I realized it was a thing and a consistent one… I swooned. So sexy star stuff!
atleast it is now merely “damn annoying”. I guess that is an improvement.
It would be much better to have it downgraded to “darn annoying.”
Man, what a day.
So she’s never getting the nail polish off, huh. It kinda works. Color-coordinated and so on. What with the uniform and all she’s not bad looking for a scav. 😛
Oh, It’ll come off!
After someone takes a blacksmith’s metal file to it.
PREDICTION: I think he(Kass) will eat le ivenmoth bug beacause he’s hungry.
PREDICTION2: He’s going to tell us all about yinglet, um… reproduction 😉
I think this is the end of the chapter, so we’re probably going to jump ahead to the next day.
OH MY GOD THE REPLICATORS ARE INVADING!
Damn I wish earth was close enough to a nebula for that kind of view.
Also wonder how long Kass’s relative calm is going to last.
The solar system was formed in such a stellar nursery. It might not be the best neighborhood to stick around in, being as those are full of big hot young stars with the distressing tendency to go supernova.
I’m not sure how long the light from a super nova lasts. If the explosion hangs around for decades or centuries that could be what that bright light on the left of the nebula is.
If that light is from a super massive star or a large star cluster I would guess that the local system’s sun is actually in orbit around that mass, since it’s so big in the sky.
However it could just be energized gas that happens to be in the shape of light rays.
The stellar nurseries are lit by those giant, bright, young stars as they burn hot and quickly. The big ones only last a few million years before they go through their stellar evolution and die with a bang. The solar system’s isotopes record at least one nearby supernova as it was forming; in the billions of years since, we’ve drifted far from our sibling stars.
Val Salia’s system appears to have drifted near one of these nebulae. It’s probably a very bad thing to have your home planet actually enter one of them.
Ah, crap! I missed this one somehow! Oh well, late OOPs is still OOPs.
A couple little pieces of criticism I have on that last panel, (I’m trying to be more critical because my comments have been mostly repetitive praise and that isn’t helpful.) First of all that nebula is just off to me somehow, it just feels a little detached from the rest of the sky. I think it’s because the “clouds”, I’m not sure what their actually called, are cut off. The nebula feels out of place in the sky, I’m sorry I can’t better explain better. Secondly I see you were trying to show some curvature of the earth but that curve is far too tight. The map of “the Hear of the World” you drew up probably wouldn’t even fit on a globe that small. Just some things to keep in mind if you plan to do more panels of landscape which I would love to see.
By the way, where did Vizlet get her pince-nez? They look suspiciously similar to Ran’s. Same optometrist, perhaps?
Is it just me or did the last panel get altered? I feel like the nebula is even bigger in the sky than it was originally.
It did get altered. I don’t know if Val read my previous comment or if he/she came upon the same conclusion. The nubula looked out of place and detached from the rest of the sky so Val increased the size to make the abrupt boarder less obvious. Nice alteration, Val.
I like the bigger nebula. The last panel just emphasizes the fact that poor Kass and her 99 problems are just a tiny (and getting smaller, hah!) thing compared to the vast, uncaring universe.
Did Isher refer to the burgleries at her room as “the fall of the house of Isher?”
Yeah; the more I looked at it, the more I felt that it wasn’t fulfilling its intended purpose of covering a large portion of the sky.
But I didn’t make the nebula bigger; I just scooted their entire star system a few light years closer to it!
Great now you probably broke time by moving it that fast. Thanks Val now we will only see sheets of the same scene for years until they exit their little time bubble you just gave them.
Man why cant comic artists respect our normal time before mucking around with galaxies at theoretically impossible speeds.
I really hope you knew what you were doing. If breaking the speed of light sends the entire comic back 1000 years or something I am going to glare menacingly at you through my nondescript default user icon.
Hey Val how come the new art isn’t in the ‘art & extras’ section?
Oh, you mean the Vizlet/Lopin humanizations? Those should probably go in the art section, now that I think of it.
Yep that’s the ones.
Oh! I wish I wasn’t so hasty with reading! I didn’t expect to get to the end so soon! Loving this so far!
Yep, just a couple chapters so far! But if you’re enjoying it now, you’ll probably enjoy all the rest left to come.
Same here, though I wish they could make this into an anime series 🙂
Good story line, cuteness, and lots of content 🙂
I hope you didn’t end it real soon. 🙁 I really hope you will get to 100 chapters.
I got new habit of checking this site three or more times a day… is it bad?

WANT MERCH!!!
Well damn! Guess I gotta learn how to knit a yinglet now.
is there a facebook fan page for this comic?
No, but maybe there should be at some point in the future!
One of the things I’ve been thinking about regards Yinglet society and technology. I agree with the patriarchs in terms of simply -taking- technology from humans and other races wouldn’t do. What it makes me think about, however, is how many different technologies could be changed and adapted to suit their culture and society specifically. As an example, a regular bow and arrow or crossbow wouldn’t do to just be made “smaller” for them, but the base idea could be adapted to be more fitting.
What I’d picture would be a device with a lighter , extended frame, and set up as a “repeater” of sorts. They have arms capable of making strong, quick thrusts, so perhaps two pushes forward on a small lever would load/pull back a bolt, with the third firing it and setting up for the next one. That kind of “springy” way to fire might be cumbersome and tiring for a human, but perhaps for a Yinglet would work just fine, and perhaps be all the more deadly since they don’t need the physical bolt itself to be lethal. I keep hearing about how they lived in those swamps with many poisonous, deadly things, so perhaps those bolts could have any number of toxins to paralyze or otherwise disable an aggressor. They function for the most part in “strength in numbers”, so it’d make sense a ranged “Yinglet Dart-repeater” would similarly run on using many smaller bolts over a single big bolt or arrow humans might use.
That’s just one example that popped up in my mind however. I used to play a lot of D&D, I adore things like this that get my “world-building” brain working away.
The Chinese did that. They commonly used poison, however that was because of its extremely low poundage. I imagine for a yinglet, the poundage would be so low it would have trouble penetrating skin and clothing.
The most likely they would seem to come up with would be a basic skane-lock crossbow, (accorriding to the inventions page.) I don’t knows they could come up with a gafa lever. Still would be very low poundage.
What’s a yinglets Max deadlift weight and height?
The Cobra is a self-cocking pistol crossbow with an 80-pound draw. Something like that would probably be too complex for the average Yingling to invent, but Vizlet is proof that some Yinglings are far above average.
Now, the bolts are smaller than full-sized crossbow bolts, so even with an 80-lb draw, it’s better suited to small game than something human sized (165 fps). Even so, you could probably kill a human with one, though your aim would have to be good enough to hit a soft spot like the throat. On the other hand, as Cellidor points out, there are probably many different poisons they could coat the tips with. Even their “soap” is dangerous.
Can’t help but think of the way landers crossbow pistol (small double crossbow , effective range 20ft)n from Dave’s gemmels waylander books http://davidgemmell.wikia.com/wiki/Waylander
And of course, there’s the crossbow that Corvo used in the game Dishonored…
Yeah, some basic mechanization, when/if they reach that stage, would allow for huge advances in yinglet life. For now though, their best bet would probably be poison-tipped darts, because their arms are pretty flimsy and weak when it comes to swinging, but has a lot of fast-twitch strength and precision when it comes to forward thrusts (from using their arms to dart into shallow waters to catch stuff.
i played legendary legend back in 2010 and it was only partly made rpgmaker said u updated last year is the game now complete
Heyyyy, I’m glad someone remembers that! That project was actually what made me decide to learn to draw in order to tell the stories I wanted to better.
I know that the version of RPG Maker I used to make it officially came out in the USA recently, but I didn’t know anything about an LL update!
Mind if I ask where this was said? The one chapter is all I ever released, so I’m curious about why that was said.
It seems like just the game page on rpgmaker.net was updated in 2015, not the game it self. I’m pretty sure you’re the one that updated the page to mention your comic.
Holy crap, I hadn’t looked at that page in years! The game actually got featured on RPGmaker.net? Wow.
Anyway! I’ve actually been holding onto valsalia.com for almost a decade now; before starting the Legendary Legend RPG, I had a brief run with an experimental comic called Daily Life in Val Salia, which had a few themes in common with OOPs, so that’s what valsalia.com was, back when I linked it from the RPG maker page.
And sorry; with the small amount of free time I have these days, and with all the attention this new comic is getting, I don’t plan on making more entries in the LL RPG. If nothing else, I can write and program scenes fairly well, getting a good combat system was beyond my skills, which is why the combat in the chapter I released was pretty lackluster.
I’d be willing to do the writing, art, and scenario design if an RPG designer who knows what they’re doing is actually interested in helping out, though! But that can be a lot to ask.
I played LL shortly after finding your comic, it was certainly funny and entertaining but I personally would rather you kept your focus on your comic. I’m far more invested in these characters and captivated by this world.
Yeah, I’m with Van on this one. Admitted I didn’t play much of LL but these characters are something you don’t even see in all professional works.
I think it is really good series so far. I think it got a very interesting twist in the beginning of the series, but I did feels bad for the main character Kass, because he/she has been through a lot and it must be hard for him/her that late 20s or early thirty man became a cute little girl furry germlin thing. I think he/she is kinda cute anyway.
I can’t wait for the newest chapter come out. 🙂
“Cute little girl furry gremlin thing” is indeed a pretty solid description of Kass at the moment.
But you got it right; as long as he/she is kinda cute, surely that’s all that matters!
on rpg maker on the legendary legend page says updated in 2015, so does that mean u dont plan on finishing it
no one cares about that stuff , the game was hilarious u need to make the next chapter , NOONE liked the game mechanics and fighting style but tons of people cept a few trolls played it cuz it was that funny
Yeah, it was originally going to be an entirely combat-free story-focused RPG, because I wanted to tell a story but couldn’t draw at the time. The combat was added in near the end, and I was convinced that nobody would ever play it anyway, so I just did some basic monster edits and then quickly realized that I didn’t know much about combat systems so I just kinda tossed the rest in.
If I knew that people would actually play it, I probably would’ve included a non-combat version or something!
Which day the new chapter come out?
I wonder there’s a prophecy tell about a human who destines to be a Yinglet to save their kind from exisctation from dying out by humankind. Maybe Kass is destines to be the next Eve (or Mary) to give birth a very first human/yinglet hybrid (if that’s possible) to bring humans and Yinglets together, because probably this could explain that Kass got reconstructed into a girl Yinglet in the first place. I think it would be a interesting twist if he/she and Emil will form a very first intersex relationship with them (if Kass get use what she/he is). I think it would be cute if it will happen if Kass is capable to carry a child.
But first,I think he/she need to use to being a Yinglet. Because it does looks like she/he have similar abilities to a Pikachu’s (minus the eletric type ones) as for a little rat-like creature. I am saying that it does looks like he/she could might have unique abilities like Enhanced Jumping (jump high) with legs like that, Enhanced agility (probably she/he is good at dodging things), and enhanced senses (high senses like hearing and smell). I heard he is good at hiding hirself from others. Probably she/he can into small spaces that no one can’t,because hir body is so little. I think Kass need to hir animal abilities to help hir friends if they are in danger in the near future.
I have a gut feeling that I can’t trust their leader (the trademaster guy),because he is after something that belonged the yinglets (probably it have to do with that device that turned Kass into a Yinglet). I think he is going to destroy the Yinglets’ village to get his hands on their artificts that they had and probably he will end up slaving them. I think the villagers will blaming Kass to lead the army there, but I think Kass feels guilty and will make up for Yinglet villagers by freeing them with the help of Emil and Isher (and I would love to see the bee girl in action,by mean helping them out. I think that would be cute). Probably they will go on the run with Yinglets. That would be interesting to see.
Thanks for the big writeup! It’s always great to read detailed thoughts on how readers perceive certain characters, and/or what their expectations are for the story. Since I know everything that’s going to happen, it can be tough to see how a reader might expect things to go.
And honestly, seeing some peoples’ predictions, like yours here, kinda makes me want to draw all sorts of different story paths.
You’re very welcome. I like to come up crazy ideas if mangas and tv shows. I even write crazy theories and most people like them. I am thinking about doing a dragon action story with gender bender twist. I was doing research if I get any ideas on TV tropes, but I came across your webcomics and I found it is very interesting. I started reading and I really enjoyed it.
Are you planning to making Elim into a male Yinglet if Kass stays as one? I think that would cute, too. I would love to see that they have babies if it does happen. 🙂
I tell ya, just about every character could potentially be shipped with every other one, given the right circumstances. And on that note, don’t think I wouldn’t do it, if I couldn’t choose just one storyline!
Ok guys calm down it’s been a month. This won’t end up like Underling this won’t end up like Underling. He posted 4 days ago right? That means he’s still here with us… right? PLEASE DONT ABANDON US!!!
No worry,I emailed him. I hope he can reply back. 😉
Make sure to inform us about the outcome.
Mhmmm make sure
Damn, it really has been a whole month! With all the RL stuff going on, it felt like just a week or two! Man, this month’s been crazy.
This comic is so good! I learned about it today via Chochi’s furaffinity gallery, and I’m glad to have found it. This is a very interesting world you’ve created, and I’m eager to see more of it.
Well thanks a lot! I’m really thankful to Chochi for the awesome OOPs-pics he’s drawn, which have directed a lot of potential readers to this comic.
I saw the moth by Kass and I thought. “Ooh, breakfast.”
comment
I have the world’s most unstable sleep cycle and have often found myself wishing I could just adapt to a yingletesque sleep pattern, even before I found the comic and added the term “yingletesque” to my vocabulary.
