It is important to introduce them to the concepts of hunting (smaller, injured) prey from an early age.
The species’ main source of nourishment in the wild, i.e. picking up interesting things off the ground and putting them in their mouth, is a skill they are already born with.
Thanks as usual to Caedere for coloring/shading the characters on this page!
tt, everyone knows girls don’t pee or poo.
… zhey just hold it in, and let it all out once a monzh by means of PMS.
Oh, so that’s why they’re so grumpy.
Quite funny and zhe is STILL overwhelmed. XD Children’s 100 Questions is bad enough, but add in the Yinglet speech structure, then it is a thousand times worse.
This is just amazing, and I think the Beizel offspring is my favorite. He doesn’t ask a ton of questions or act weirdly, he just sits and watched Kass intensely, listening to things and trying to either figure out who this one is on his own, or analyze the strangely clothed female by what she says and does. As much as he can anyway.
Also, hes just freaking adorable.
Have to agree. He’s definitely the smarter of the bunch.
I wonder, how often do Yinglet females brood in a year?
So these are all Vizlet’s children? 😮 i like how a few of them resemble the patriarchs.
also makes me wonder how many traits are taken from each parent, if any.
and i just remembered there’s a bunch of other females. woops. its been a while since i read the other pages. XD
Let’s play Guess the Parents:
Silver one: Figgins and Vesaria (though I also feel like Vesaria might be Fig’s daughter or sibling given their looks, which would make that rather awkward) or Chakki and Vesaria (Chakki has more hair than the others, like that one and his mop-top)
Black one: Beizel and Vizlet, definitely.
Tan with blue eyes: Chakki and Lippie (neither have blue eyes but they’re both very soft, quiet yings like that lil boy seems to be)
Red-tinged brown one: Kattajak and Zally (similar colors, has a similar extroverted, aggro personality to Kattajak)
Green “special” one: Tbh I have no clue.
i think poak and zally for the red tinged brown one. he likes food.
“why is we here?” – Kid you figure that out and you get to start a religio.
Either that, or you need to be the first one to complete Stonehenge.
“Another civilization has completed a wonder.”
cue lords prayer in swahili, as sung by hyperactive yinglets.
That mental… guess you can’t really call it an image… made me snicker. Kudos.
“Why is we here?”
Just to suffer?
“I’m in me”.
That’s a Yinglet in the beginning stages of philosophy. That is a dark, dark path to tread.
All we iz… iz just BONES.
Damn, I wish I’d thought of being a rock when I grew up.
Well this goes some way to explaining why some Yinglets have tattered ears.
missed opportunity to reference all stupid comments since the start of the comic
He seriously needs a towel. And probably an explanation of this it’s not like Kaz is a zoolologist. Although it may raise a question with him do they raise females and males in the same nurseries?
Ah…. That 4th one reminds me of my childhood. I miss those good old days of ripping apart a rat and eating it well it was still alive and screaming. (sigh)
I’m reading all their lines with small children’s voices and it’s both incredibly cute and incredibly annoying.
“Ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that’s on the worst day of my life.”
–Peter Gibbons
is that a mutated lesser ying let there getting fed?
Nah, when girls lean back, roll their eyes and give an exasperated exhale…that’s when they release their bodily waste. Just exhale into the air. You doing good kids in helping her go potty.
I’ll make a bad relative.
Why do they have Breasts, when they lay eggs and feed them little, half dead beaten critters?
Is breastfeeding there a thing?
Well, the kids on this page are apparently “developed enough”, so they probably just have already outgrown that stage.
those teeth must be horrible things for mothers
I hope after this Kass has enough courage to see everyone at the dinnish refugee house. It’d be nice to see what common folk think about a yinglet officer too.
We already know that human commoners Don’t hold the Yinglet community in very high regard. They look down on them. I imagine their initial reaction would be more or less the same untill they came to terms that Yinglady is in fact Kassen.
Even if she is an officer.
Not necessarily. Remember: Kass is an officer. They’d have to deal with the question: “How did a yinglet become an officer?” Additionally yinglets hold females in high regard, and from what they say Kass is exceptionally attractive for a yinglet (my theory is that whatever turned Kass into a yinglet did that on purpose, or it is because Kass’ DNA is completely foreign/pure to them so it attracts through pheromones like how animals use them to avoid incest) and would thus do whatever they could to attract her and/or guarantee her safety. If anyone dared voice an insult they could be attacked by a band of angry yinglets. “How dare you insult zhe sopretty lady!” Just imagine Kass wanting to do a normal thing such as going to buy something for Ginny with his newfound wealth. Negotiations with the merchant become super ackward as Kass proves to be incredibly intelligent due to his background as a merchant. He goes to Ginny only to realize she didn’t even notice him when he was human. When he leaves to head back a bunch of yinglets approach with gifts that look a lot like the other items that merchant had… finally ending with him meeting the others at the refugee house, but while they’re skeptical at first they become supportive and thankful for what Kass has done. It all ends with Kass happy that despite everything he’s got comrades who appreciate him, and that his situation means something positive IS happening. Other things that could happen would be Lopin talking about how great Kass is as a matriarch to other yinglets (all the clams, people give pretty clothes, etc.) and the seeds of Kass’ own yinglet enclave are sown. If the author could mention if we’ll be seeing Kass in town rather than just moving through it I’d be soso happy.
Just noticed, after all the “splatter”, the kids are all back in the same places as before. Only now, with bloodstains.
I see Nekoama’s little bulba made it into the nursery
anyone else notice that the burrow back there is…getting more on fire???
“I put the fires out.”
“You made them WORSE!”
“Worse… or better?”
