After stabbing his best friend in the back? Yeah, I wish him luck. Lopin is an idiot, but he didn’t intentionally hurt anyone. I can’t imagine Kass having any sympathy or pity for Brakka at this point.
Kass is very protective of his friends. He’s kind-hearted and empathetic, but hurting someone he cares about is a line you don’t cross. He might have a real motley crew at his back, but not a single one of them have ever intentionally hurt him or anyone he cares about.
On the other hand, if he uses his human slyness to /promise/ asylum to Brakka /only/, and can get him arrested for Vizlet and Viracrox, and get the justice he wants, prevent Brakka from reporting to Narklet, and firmly set the scene for some serious dialogue. And possibly, get Isher to play guard duty for him, which she won’t view as all that objectionable as far as guard duties go.
I think we are near to discover something about the wandering moon, once Kass explain what “zhat zhing” did to him. Brakka really needs to recover the “zhing” to the point he fainted when he understood he can’t recover it. So I think the only option left is to take Kass to his boss. Maybe the same voices that talked to the… uh… I can’t remember the name… maybe he was calledthegreat something. 🙂 So is up to Elim to find some help and maybe we’ll see Yannit and the others trying to resque Kass.
Your English is fine, don’t worry about it! A few simple grammatical errors here and there, but they’re all mistakes that most native speakers don’t even seem to care about making lol
Is it just me or do they look somewhat similar, like relatives? What if Brakka’s “DNA” or magical equivalent rubbed off onto Zhat Zhing, and was used as basis to convert Kass?
Similar physical features, clothing, and coloring can be used as a foil for personality (and situational) differences or similarities. It has also traditionally been used as a sign that two characters will snog later (think Batman and Catwoman). Whatever the meaning within the particular narrative, it is a sure indication of some relationship (friend, foe, other) between the two characters.
It’s also possible that Brakka was affected by a similar ‘zhing’, and the similarities they both share are simply the default Yinglet form combined with their former human characteristics.
But, while that is an option Val could go with, it is more likely that the characters were simply designed to be rivals, with the similarities serving as a way to accentuate their differences.
So while NecromancerDesh is definitely correct, it’s entirely possible that the physical similarities could have plot importance as well.
We’ll see where the author takes zhis.
So I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet or not, but I got a prediction or two.
It was discussed somewhere else, I don’t know if it was Discord, FA, or what anymore, about how Yinglet saliva is filled with a ton of nasty bacteria to any species not a Yinglet. Brakka could have easily just licked the blade before his charge into Elim. Elim gets to the Dinnian (sp) shelter where Kass was first turned and gets told by the medic he’s a walking corpse due to infection, whether internal organs were peirced or not. The medic says he’d have to be a yinglet to survive. Group shot of everyone looking at the discolored boards that replaced the old ones where zhat zhing burned through.
After ripping up the floorboards and possibly finding zhat zhing, we can find out if its re-useable or not to save Elim’s life.
Ok, real metatalk now: If elim dies, who would become the foil for Kass? No one else is in any position to talk to kass so frankly, because no one else knows kass both before and after the transformation. (Except one, but she’s too shy.) So we won’t get exposition about how kass feels in her new body anymore.
Also, Kass would need someone to help her cope with the loss. No one can do that. Even if kass was just SOL, we the readers would lose a lot of dialog and insight.
So I’m pretty sure elim survives, in some capacity; OR a new character from Kass’s past will be introduced.
This grifter is a more obvious foil, what with them both screwed by the same mistake, possessing similar physical features and coloring. The differences come in where their reactions and positions are concerned. Kass has a support network. Brakka is alone. Kass tries avoiding physical urges as possible. Brakka gives in as given the opportunity. Both are determined, potentially violent, and desperate. As an antgonist, he makes a great foil. As for friendly foils, we have Isher. Worry for Elim, if you are inclined to worry.
Kass may be insulting Lopin now, but Lopin did give him those oysters during the freak out a couple pages back which helped him significantly with calming down. Lopin even mentioned afterwards about being upset over giving up the oysters but still felt Kass needed them more.
I am sure both of them will instantly forgive Lopin, when he does a really cute look.
It is impossible to stay angry when exposed to extreme amounts of cuteness.
That thing probablly changes the user from human to yinglet and yinglet to human just once per user like something that grants one wish per owner and has to change hands before the first owner gets it back to change him or her back. Also it needs to be activated that’s why Lopin wasn’t affected. Also Lopin is not an idiot she’s most likely the a lesser yinglet. I would like to see what becomes of the yinglet child that was helped to hatch. One of the hatchery guards acted like it was his child that was born
1. The artifact was destroyed. All that remained was some barnacles.
2. Lopin is a guy.
3. Why would a lesser yinglet be in the enclave? He was, at least, under their jurisdiction.
Yinglets aren’t annoying or ugly. They’re funny and cute, and dumb. There’s also more variation in color and look. They also aren’t anyone’s henchmen and have individual enclaves with differing social structures. They also have females.
QUESTION: are there any biological rules or societal effects on Yinglets based on their eye color? I’ve noticed a wide range of colors, and wonder if they play any part in stuff or are just mundane eye colors.
Brakka had one mental break down before, he’s about to have another one in a minute. She about to tell him what happen to that little trinket he wants. Hee hee hee…
More booping snoots pls. Is cute.
Seconded.
Here, here!!
Aw, they’re bonding…
Once Brakka finds out that Zhat Zhing was, I imagine his only option is to request asylum with Kass just as Lopin did.
After stabbing his best friend in the back? Yeah, I wish him luck. Lopin is an idiot, but he didn’t intentionally hurt anyone. I can’t imagine Kass having any sympathy or pity for Brakka at this point.
Or, I’d imagine Kass have plenty of pity for Brakka.
As in, “such a pity I have no time to murder that rotten rat-bird properly“.
“Such a pity I can only strange you ONCE!”
“Haak. Ggk!
Ahem.
*strangle
No, you got it right the first time.
Yeah, Kass isn’t likely to want to help him out, but considering the group he already has to help out, I could see it going either way.
Kass is very protective of his friends. He’s kind-hearted and empathetic, but hurting someone he cares about is a line you don’t cross. He might have a real motley crew at his back, but not a single one of them have ever intentionally hurt him or anyone he cares about.

Asylum from Kass perhaps but still asylum

Sorry for my bad english…

Out-Of-Placers, a story of inconvienent chageS
Pretty sure they mentioned back then that nothing was left of it. But as my name imply i would not be opposed to that line of happenstance.
Question is: What fate is in store for ze rat who dared stab our precious Elim?
kassen, breath, your head is full of yinglet right now.
Hey, does anyone know where I can find ze Discord server for zis? I’m really interested!
https://discord.gg/UdRBR2 (Good for 1 day, so hurry!)
Aaahno it expired before I could see it can I have one myself? ;-;
https://discord.gg/JnxuWw (good for one day as of today)
Third time’s the charm. Can I come in too?
OH no now their agreeing.
For some reason I now read all the yinglet speech in Donald Duck voice and accent.
And so are you. Enjoy.
Eh more like the worst parts of german and general squeakiness in my head, sorta minie mouse i suppose. Donald is not pathetic enough i feel.
I kinda read it in a very high-pitched voice.
I’ve always imagined their voices were like the weasels from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” with a bit more of a German accent.
I read it like the Chipmunks huffing helium while doing a bad Boris impression. … Yeah.
ooooh, i like that

Well, yeah. But you’re not supposed to say it!
This grifter is a more obvious foil, what with them both screwed by the same mistake, possessing similar physical features and coloring. Maybe one of the other Dinland refugees can become the new foil. I vote por that bruisegrass adicted doctor. Grasshead be needing more facetime.
Blasphemy!
…
Anyways, i think internal monologue could keep it going. Would make it more angsty, but would probably work.
As much as Kass would like to see Brakka murder Lopin, I think he has first dibs. And Brakka is on the hit list as well.
agreed… and I guess i’m flattered by your username…?
I love how this comic can go from “traumatic interrogation scene” to “sitcom” within a space of two panels XD
Green eyes there looks like a cold mother’
I thought that same thing once or twice. thanks
I just noticed Kass dressed the other guy down like a drill sargeant.
“Let me see your war face.” kinda dress down.
I always pictured yinglets sounding like the psycho midgets from borderlands
Not bad!
Kass may be insulting Lopin now, but Lopin did give him those oysters during the freak out a couple pages back which helped him significantly with calming down. Lopin even mentioned afterwards about being upset over giving up the oysters but still felt Kass needed them more.
What days Does the creator upload the pages for this comic?
He tries for every week. But he doesn’t have a set schedule
Ok thanks
I am sure both of them will instantly forgive Lopin, when he does a really cute look.
It is impossible to stay angry when exposed to extreme amounts of cuteness.
Now I wonder if there’s ever going to be a cure to change him back?

1. The artifact was destroyed. All that remained was some barnacles.
2. Lopin is a guy.
3. Why would a lesser yinglet be in the enclave? He was, at least, under their jurisdiction.
Also, lesser yinglets are half a foot tall and don’t talk.
Can someone please tell me The names of other furry comics that are good
From the top of my head, some decent comics of that are:
Twokinds
Slightly Damned
Housepets!
and
Beyond the Western Deep.
I’m enjoying slightly damned so far!
http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_662.php
And
http://www.themonsterunderthebed.net
Is a good one too. They were recommended to me here by other commenters a while back and have been good reads.
Yinglets are just furry minions with a sex drive, change my mind
I was gonna say “minions for grown-ups” but your assessment is also true.
oof
Yinglets aren’t annoying or ugly. They’re funny and cute, and dumb. There’s also more variation in color and look. They also aren’t anyone’s henchmen and have individual enclaves with differing social structures. They also have females.
You know, I imagine talking to yinglets is kind of like kicking piles of snow. Apply enough force, and they quickly cave in.
Talking to Kass is probably like finding out the location of a fire hydrant. By kicking piles of snow.
Are other creatures able to be transformed by that thing into a yinglets And are there any other creatures that we haven’t seen yet?
QUESTION: are there any biological rules or societal effects on Yinglets based on their eye color? I’ve noticed a wide range of colors, and wonder if they play any part in stuff or are just mundane eye colors.
Pretty much mundane. Though it probably does help the Oracle of Bakersroof with having blue eyes.
now kiss
Brakka had one mental break down before, he’s about to have another one in a minute. She about to tell him what happen to that little trinket he wants. Hee hee hee…
I like ze white one wizh ze green eyes. He has strong legs~
He seems all around well built for a Ying. 1 to 10 he’s a 7.
